I hope this isn't a silly question, but does DLP accept Visa and Discover? Trying to decide which card we want to use. It is easier to have cash on hand for everything?

hey good question! never thot of that. i have visa debit card and usually use it to purchase everything. so i'm wondering that too. How many cash machines are there and is it chip and pin everywhere?

We used Visa almost exclusively for all our purchases - food, merchandise etc.
Just make sure that you will not be stung for charges :)

The carts were the only place that did not take cards :)

Here's the ATMs

·* Disneyland Park - in the arcades parallel to Main Street, U.S.A., Discoveryland and Adventureland
·* Walt Disney Studios Park - next to Studio Services and at the Backlot Express Restaurant
·* Disney Village - at the Gaumont Cineplex
·* Marne-la-Vallée/Chessy station - at the Post Office

It's all chip and pin there now. :)

What does chip and pin mean????

It means that you have a chip on your card and that is placed into the card machine and you have to enter your pin number to make the purchase rather than signing for the purchase.

Almost everywhere in England is chip and pin now

Same in Scotland too :thumbsup2

The park is OK for Visa and Master Card, but Discover is not accepted.

I can not remember, do the ATM's in the park make their own local charge for the service. We bank with Nationwide so no charges at home.

What is the most cost-effective way of paying? I have Barclays, Tesco and Nationwide credit cards. Which one should I use? :confused3 I am terrible with maths and don't really understand charges, exchange rates or anything to do with money. I just know I haven't got a lot!:rotfl: Would I be better off just taking Euros?

I think the best option from that collection would be to use the Nationwide card(s). The rest all have a local handling charge for making an international transaction.

Nationwide don't have that handling charge - although you may still incur a charge which will come from the local (french) ATM provider.

Thank you Iain. I've also read that it is cheaper to use the 'charge' card that you can get from the onsite hotels - something about there being one charge when you pay the balance, rather than several?

Its up to you as you have a Nationwide credit card you won't have any charges for using it so you won't gain too much compared to a card that you get charged everytime you use it.

Thanks Nikki. Are there any benefits to using one of these charge cards? I'll take my Nationwide card (if I can find it) as I'd hate to pay more than I have to!

If I were you I would use your Nationwide CC for your purchases, dining etc and take some euros with you as small change. We always take some cash as we prefer to tip in cash rather than adding it to the bill, also there are a few places that don't accept credit cards like the ice-cream carts, not that you'll be wanting to buy one of those at this time of year :rotfl: and I believe you'll incur charges using a Nationwide credit card in an ATM, it's a Nationwide debit card that waives this.

Thanks for that Elaine. I think I'll take my credit card and euros. I'd forgotten about tipping! Will need plenty of Euros for that!

Not really its just personal choice. I always get one but very rarely use it. If you don't use you Nationwide cc then yes there are benefits as the others charge to use them abroad.
