They will happily take your money in any format - credit cards, debit cards, traveler's checks or cash.

They do, now, accept Discover as well.

There are some places that don't take credit cards - little snack carts and what not. But most of them do - we haven't taken the amex to WDW, so I can't speak for sure of that one. But we spent gobs on the visa debit card last year, so I know many, many, many places take that. (Including Food and Wine Festival booths and the shops in the World Showcase)

You can pre-load your room key with some credit card cash and use it at snack carts though, can't you? For some reason I vaguely remember doing this, but I might be mistaken.

Thanks for the info because we never carry cash. We use our debit card for EVERYTHING....For those carts that don't take the credit or debit cards...are there ATMs located generously throughout the parks?

Certainly - just check your park map or ask a CM.

Visa, Master Card, Amex, Discover, Dinners Club, JCB, Another forign bank card that I cant for the life of me remember, Key to the World (aka room key), Travelers checks with one of the above logos in US$, US bank personal check with state ID, Disney Dollars, the new Disney Gift Card and the good ole greenback will be accepted almost anywheres.

Exception of some out door veners. However most outdoor food stands/ice cream carts now have PDAs that will accepted your magnetic strip friends.

There is atleast 1 atm located in each park. But somthing better then paying the $2 service fee for them is to stand in line at guest relations and buy some Disney $ with your card. No fee and you get back regular $ as change.
