Credit cards and ADR's???

When did they start requiring a credit card for an ADR? I called yesterday to make ADR's for Norway(I don't remember how to spell the name of the restaraunt), LTT, CM's and the Hoop de doo. In the past I had to give a credit card number for the Hoop de doo, but they have never needed one for the other ADR's. Is this something new? If so I am not opposed to it if it keeps folks from making multiple resevations and clogging up the ADR system.

I believe it has to do with the Princess meal (Norway). We did the Princess breakfast there on our last trip and had to give our CC # and were told we'd be charged if we did not show and did not give 24 hour (I think) notice of cancellation.

maybe that's what it was. this is the first time I have ever made an ADR for Norway. The other time that I have eaten there I just walked up and got a table.
