Do I need a credit card to check in to my hotel?? (art of animation)

I have paid for the week stay in full with my travel agent.

Also, what kind of hold is put on the card??

I do believe all hotels require a credit card "on file." They always say for "incidentals."

I am not sure if you need one. When we went to AllStars in Sept. we did not have charging privleges.

If you want to charge to your room they charge the card when you get to $500. If you want to pay with cash or giftcards you can go to Guest services before the $500 mark and make a payment.

It is easier for them to have a card on file. We went to guest services in the park and they had to call the hotel and give the hotel our card number over the phone.

If you do not have a card I would call the hotel before I got there and explain the situation.

most hotels make you have one in case you break the t.v. steal it ect. We had to put a $150 cash deposit down once and got it back in the morning when we left. We can use our debit card but they put a hold on it for like 7 days, its a pain.

Disney resorts do NOT require you to put any card down on the room account.

If you want to charge to the room then you have to put something down but if you don't want to or need to charge to the room then they don't require it. A cm might says it so it sounds like that OR the guest might hear words that they think sound like it, but as Lon as you don't want a room charge, no cc or dc or gc or cash is needed to be out down on the room other than to simply pay for the room if you haven't already done that.

Curiosity would have killed me, so I called, no credit card needed unless I want to charge stuff to my room.
