We are planning on taking few travellers checks with us this time DW only concern is we are told to keep a line of sight on your cc to stop it being skimmed. In somewhere like the rainforest can you ask the sever can you go with them to do the card transaction we have chip and pin to try and stop things like this do you have it over there

If you are staying onsite you can just charge to your room account - I assume this would be safer since you will see a full list of everything to be charged to your cc before you check out of the resort. That way you would only have to use your cc once while at Disney. Of course, if you are going off-site, it might be better to use the traveler's checks - although we have personally never had problems with CCs while traveling at WDW or anywhere else.

You can get a Visa/MC/or Amex gift cards. I get mine a the mall in the center court area(we have a Simon Mall) I used one in Vegas I just put all my cash into one & kept track of how much I used. I liked it alot.

If you are staying at a Disney resort definitely do what an earlier poster suggested and use your room card for charges. You will get a print out from your resort of all the charges at check out. You can also request a print out at any time to check over the bill.
The point you made about not letting the credit card out of your site is true for EVERYPLACE!!!!!
This does not apply only to Disney. With all the credit card fraud and identity thefts taking place today experts advise to NEVER give your credit card to anyone who will "disappear" with it. You never know what they are doing with it. This is why when we eat at local restaurants I now pay only with cash.

Thanks for the advice rainforest is the only place that we will eat that the server takes the card away we will pay cash there and elsewhere go with server to a tillpoint if they dont like it i will explain why.Had no problem at outher restaurants doing that.Over here in uk with chip and pin the idea is when you ask for the bill they bring the terminal to the table ( its new over here few places do it yet but terminals are in place to for complete rool out lot of advertiseing) you put the card in and you punch you pin number in card never leaves your hand bit like the ones in shops over in the usa where you swipe the card it asks credit or debit if debit you enter the pin if credit you sign where we would enter pin for both>Should be euorope wide by the end of next year.

We allways pay the tip in cash as i think it is fairer for the server
