I need some creative ideas on how to store my magazines. I have InStyle and Bon Appetite magazines from the mid 90's and don't want to throw them out. I also dont want to put them in the basement. Any ideas on how to store them?

I would suggest buying the plastic magazine covers, and wrapping them up. After that, I'd probably put them on a type of magazine rack.

well I have a couple of things I do.

With all my Christmas mags I cut out the articles I want and have seperate notebooks for each thing ie: recipes, decorations, crafts to make etc.

For the mags I want in one piece I either put them in binders for each magazine ( one for family circle, one for womans day etc) you can usually get at least a year in each 1.5 in binder.


You can either buy or make magazine boxes that you can store them in too. They come in plastic or cardboard. If you want to make your own cut cereal boxes and then wallpaper them or colour them.

Hi Wagamama!

I so sympathize- I once thought I'd scan all of the salient articles from all my magazines and have them stored on CDs-BIG MISTAKE-this method would take me the next kazillion years-

Ikea has some nice magazine files in updated colors-they have that "old school" library design but in different colors and materials so that they give a very modern "retro" feel-

and they're cheap! They'll give a very clean look to your bookshelves.

GO to their website and look at their virtual catalogs if you don't already have one at home.

oh-and you're from MA?-if you're in Cambridge-or if they have one in your area-the Museum of Useful Things and Black Ink also carry some interesting -not too expensive-magazine files...
