I'm thinking about giving my two tween/teen kids some (small amount) gift cards for Christmas for their favorite eateries, movies, iTunes, ect. Does anyone have a cool, creative way to give them instead of just sticking them in a card? Something "Santa" could bring?

If it helps it's for a boy 12, and a girl 13.

I know at the cracker barrel, they sell these gift card holders. It's a miniature santa suit hanging on a hanger. You put the card inside the suit, then you can hang it on the tree.

Out tree growing up used to have cards and such all on the branches of the tree, and the boxes underneath.

I don't know if they have them this year, but in past years QVC has had these really cool clear puzzle boxes. After you put the card inside and close it, the person you give it to has to figure out how to open it. I think you have to move pieces on different sides until it finally opens.

I looked on QVC and couldn't find them, but they have some on amazon.com. Look up money puzzle box and they several different kinds.

There's an XMas thread over on the families board. Someone there said they were going to decorate a miniature tree with gift cards as the ornaments. I thought it was a great way to give someone multiple gift cards/movie tix.

I have been thinking about this for the last couple weeks. I plan to mix-n-match the gift cards with an inexpensive gift. Like packaged Starbucks singles with a starbucks card, a Logan's gift card with a bag of peanuts in the shell, Itunes card with new earbuds (these never seem to last so they can always use new), gas card with an air freshner of fuzzy dice , etc. Some are just silly associations and some are more the things they need/want. But at least it makes it more like a "gift" for me. Hope this helps.

For my best friends baby shower her mother got her a book that holds business cards and filled each page with gift cards for different places. Really cute idea, DD was like wow, I want that !!!

Also a great way to keep track of them so they don't get lost!

My mom did this for my husband and I a few years ago and it was the GREATEST! She had lights and some decorations on the little 3 foot tree and had gift cards for Target, Michaels, Toys R Us, Red Robin, Melting Pot, AMC Theaters, Barnes & Noble, McDonalds and many more. It was the best gift we ever received!

My Aunt and Uncle do this for their kids every year! They've created HUGE cards out of poster board with cute sayings and then put candy and gift cards in as words/stores. Very creative.

Another person I know wrapped boxes and filled them with styrafoam peanuts or weighted them with all sorts of things and then inside the only gift was a gift card.
