I have never seen any evidence to support creation, but planty for evolution. So my vote goes with evolution.

Both - they are not mutually exclusive.

I'm an Evolution person by popular definition. But, I also believe that God was the force that started the process.

How can it be both, there's no evolution in the Bible? Man was created as is surely.

Where does it say in the Bible that evolution does NOT exist? :confused3

I personally believe that God created the world and put his hand in it to start evolution as well.

Catholic dogma allows for the teaching of both. And fwiw, I do not believe that what you see in a human today is exactly what you saw at the beginning of the world. The world back then is not the world we know now.

IMO, to say that only one theory is possible is a bit too narrow minded for my tastes. For all I care, we could have the faith based creationism, mixed with the Big Bang and Evolutionism. All can easily work well together. Nothing has to be that literal and one sided.

The Bible is not a science book. It does not set out to do the same things a text book does. The creation accounts (both of them) are poetic literature that speak about the handiwork of God in creation. Biblical authors did not get hung up on how God did it, so I don't either.

I believe in evolution, but also think that evolution started somewhere. I do not think any God created us, though. To me, that's just an explanation for what we don't know and don't really understand.

Two things; 1. God created Adam and Eve in his own image apparently, so unless God has also evolved......
2.Humans weren't here at the beginning of the world.

I believe God created man and we then "evolved form there". When I say evolved I mean changed aka people are taller now than they used to be several hundred years ago.

The whole cauldrion of single cell molecules is where life began I find to be pure science fiction.

I figure it's a little of both maybe but I probably would say I fall on the evolution side of the fence.

I figure I might give creation/intelligent design a little more respect if they could tell me why men have nipples.

(PS there is a book called Why do men have nipples, it's a book of questions that a doctor got asked at cocktail parties it's really good)

Um... in his image does NOT mean carbon copy. Do you really thing God looks like a human? I don't think so. I think that the image of God has to do with thoughts and personality, not physical looks. If you thought that, how can you explain the different faces, colors and the sizes of all humans?

The world didn't get created in one day. The Bible says as such too

Not everyone believes that the world was created in exactly 7 days as well. Not all of us are that literal. I do believe the world was created over time... the 7 days is not important to take literally. So you can have many thousands of years w/o humans before God decided to create Adam.

I take it you are NOT a religious person and think that we all think so black and white?

Now this is what I'm wondering:confused3 This is why religion confuses me so much:sad2:

I also think the God created the world yet we have evolved from that original creation. If you have ever watched a video of how a sperm and egg combine to form a baby there can be no question in my mind that there has to be some divine intervention. Had we all been a freak of nature as strict evolutionists say, why are there only 2 sexes and not 5, why does the food chain work the way it does, why can a human not mate with a dog? There are just too many things that work too perfectly to be the result of a chance meeting of a few elements.

So you believe that the world is too miraculous a place to have come about at random and had to have a divine creator. But you're prepared tp accept that the whole universe was created by a creator who apparently did come about from nowhere?

Can't vote - not an option for "Both."

I guess there are a lot of people who are unaware that many folks believe in both. Perhaps this thread will enlighten them.

I have my masters in Biological Anthropology, and I still don't believe fully in evolution. Microevolution can't be argued, there's definitive proof. But as for macroevolution, I really don't think we all came out of the primordial ooze. I also don't believe for a second that woman was made from man's rib and the world is only 6000 years old (as per Bishop Usher's research).
I believe in a certain degree of intelligent design, and then small-scale evolutionary developments on top of that. It's certainly not the most scientific of theories, but it works for me. :thumbsup2

I am another person who couldn't vote because I believe in both.

And Kendra, calm down.
