Crazy things parents let their kids do

I've been to (and hosted) a few co-ed sleepovers, my first was when I was 17.
I've never been to one where people were doing anything 'bad', the group I hang around with usually just play games/talk/eat/whatever. No weird sexual things lol
I don't see an issue with co-ed sleepovers/overnight parties.
I've stayed overnight after plenty of parties....it's better than drinking and driving.

I also had a few friends in HS whose houses were always open for a party...the parents just didn't care if you drank/smoked/whatever in the house--even if they were or weren't home.
I find that weird! And the guy whose house it was is a total deadbeat now....so ya...i think that was certainly bad parenting.

Parents who let their children do stuff like that shouldn't even be parents.

I've seen some really stupid stuff as well, I'll update this later if I can think of anything.

We have co-ed sleepover's a lot here. Well not me, but my friends.. Mainly because we're all really close with the guys here. But it's not like we have no supervision at all. We all stay in the living rooms, and we're usually up all night playing video games anyways. We're such nerds. But I don't find those kind of co-ed sleepovers to be seen as bad-parenting.. it's when there ae no parents there.. or when the parents don't really care what they do. Trust me the one's here are VERY supervised, they're usually in there with us just about the entire time.

Well, the boys and girls fall asleep on the couch and in recliners and beds together. I happened to be sharing a room on an overnight trip with a few people from this "close-knit" group. One of the guys came into our hotel room and slept in the same bed as two of my roommates because it was "crowded" in his own room. He had been flirting with the girl he crawled in bed with all day, and we heard them smooching the next morning.

I have a bunch of guy friends and we're really close, but there's no way our parents would let us have a big co-ed sleepover.

(But keep in mind that we all have older parents - in their late 40s and early 50s. Maybe younger parents are more open to such activities.)

Everytime I go to the parks, I see little kids slobbering all over the hand rails. Like literally licking/sucking on them. I can't believe their parents let them do that because 1. it's disgusting, and 2. it's completely germ ridden.

Or, I'm sorry, but when parents let their kids get SO overweight! I see kids all the time that can barely walk, yet they're eating chicken nuggets or something. To me, that's just awful and a form of child abuse.

Or when parents let their kids dress a certain way. Like when I see an 8 year old wearing a tight low cut top and super short shorts, I always blame the parents.

ok, Ive struggled with my weight my whole life and it was never my parents fault. My parents would always watch what I eat and always monitor my eating but I would always sneak things behind their backs or eat a lot when I wasnt with them. I dont think its fair to blame overwightness on the parents

The pictures you've posted on the SYF thread indicate you are not overweight at all so I don't understand why you're taking this in that manner?

Notice that they're at McDonald's. If you see that picture and still think the parents have no fault whatsoever, :sad2: .

:sad2: That's pathetic! Parents in the UAE need to get their act together... but Dubai is gorgeous and I want to go there some day.

Anyways, kids under 6 in anything other than G movies. Sorry, Marley & Me is not for 5 year olds. I could see Bolt, but that's about it. Oooh and what IRKED me was REALLY YOUNG KIDS in Indiana Jones/Any superhero movie really. I know the ORIGINAL series/action figures/movies were marketed at kids, but it doesn't mean THESE are!

ugh. a boy from my old school..
hes like.. infamous for the stuff he does.. and his parents dont mind.

we went to school together in year 5 and 6 in G&T classes, showing that hes smart.. but so dumb! before he went to nbps he went to two schools before, both of which he was expelled. he was suspended 5 times at nbps. he took the blade out of his pencil sharpener and stabbed a girl in 3rd grade at the school beefore mine.

then we all left for highschool.. two months into the first term of year 7 he got into a fight on a ferry, kicked a kid in the face and took out his teeth and got expelled from his private school. hes been to about.. 4 highschools since then and his parents dont even do anything about it like grounding him or anything...!
hes 13 and already done 'it'. his 14th bday party is coming up and he invited my friend/his on again off again gf to go saying "You can come if you want.. there will be heaps of dope and booze though".

she never did go out with him.. she always decided at the last minute it was best not too.

THe popular girls at my school. a mix of 13 and 14 year old private schooler 8th graders.
Each year there is the BPfireworks night/fair. this year they payed someone to get them alcohol (or one of ther parents got it for them..) and got completely smashed in public to the point of being passed out on the floor. there parents didnt even mind.
one fo the girls younger brothers was taking pictures the whole time..
Some smartass posted pictures on myspace and the school found out. they told the police, sent letters to parents and called the parents.

My friend was with them at the time, but at the time the photos were being taken/alcohol being bought, she wasnt there because she was taking her 5 year old younger brother and sister back to their parents to stop them getting hurt.

its so stupid. alcohol is so bad for developing brains, especially that of 13/14 year olds!

sorry if there is bad spelling or punct in this!

This reminds me of when the first Pirates of the Caribbean was out in theaters. I went to go see it with my parents one saturday afternoon and the theater was PACKED with parents and their kids. It was hard to concentrate on the movie with babies screaming & crying and kids having races up and down the stairs the entire time the movie was playing. I remember about halfway through the movie one kid (who was running around) came up to his parents (who were sitting in front of me) complaining he was bored and wanted to leave. The parents response? "We can't leave - we want to watch the movie. Just keep running around with the other kids until the movie is over." :headache:

Tonight I went to a restaurant for dinner with my parents before we went to see a movie. We were seated in a booth right by two parents and their 5-ish year old son. He was jumping up and down on the booth seat for a good 2-3 minutes screaming at the top of his lungs. The people in the booth behind their son politely complained to the parents, but they did absolutely NOTHING about it. The kid continued jumping & screaming in the booth for the next 5 minutes until the parents had finished paying and left. :sad2:

I have a neighbor that has two teenage girls. One is 16 and the other is 14. The live with there mom who well seems to have a different man over about every month. Well her daughters are following in her footsteps. We have large yards and occassional they will have guys(The 16 year old have a 22 year old BF) over for a bonfire. They sit out there and drink, smoke, and even smoke weed. The mother also allows her daughters boyfriend to stay overnight and I imagine they aren't sleeping in the basement.

several years ago when i was at disney, we were eating in abc commisary. u know those fake palm trees in there? well this kid attempted to climb one of them while her mom watched n did nothing. it was also very crowded at that time:headache:
