My family and I are reserved at POFQ from Dec 14 thru Dec 18 but I am having second thoughts. That is a lot of money for just a room and I am thinking of downgrading to a Value resort. We won't be in our room at all other than to sleep. Any suggestions on which Value Resort?

Im very much like you, we're at the resort to shower, swim, and sleep. And thats all. We've stayed at mods before but we do stay at values most of the time because its good enough for what we need.

My fave value is POP. Looove that resort! Movies is my other fave, but i prefer Pop because of the buses, they dont share with other resorts like the all stars do.

I've stayed at a lot of the WDW resorts all the way from club level at deluxes down to the values.

I like Pop better than any of the moderates I have tried.

Another vote for Pop! Would be going back there again this time around, but kids want to try Art of Animation. We'll prob go back to Pop next time around.

Pop. :thumbsup2

AoA's fabulous pool area will be fairly useless to anyone traveling in mid-December anyway, and if you want to see the resort/food court it's a quick walk across from Pop.

I am not sure what size/ages are of your family, but for us value's rooms are too small. Two teens and double beds do not work for us.

If I had young children and the size of the bed/room was not an issue, I think AoA would be a great choice.

My favorite value is AoA, but if you are looking to save money I think the All-Stars and POP are a little less expensive (for a standard room). I have stayed at All-Star Music and enjoyed it very much.

Keep your eyes open for any promos that may come along for your vacation period. Since you are not travelling over Christmas there is a possibility that you could get a better rate. Chances are any Dec promos will not be announced until the late summer but it is worth keeping in mind.

I am a HUGE POFQ lover. Don't be surprised if free dining comes out for the dates during your stay. As long as free dining is offered for the day you check in, you should be eligible for it for your entire stay. If free dining doesn't interest you, I would expect a % off discount for this time of the year. You are looking at going during what I consider the most wonderful time of the year. The crowds are low, you are between Pop Warner week and Christmas. Be careful at the values during this time, some may stay after Pop Warner week, and I would expect those people to stay in the values.

Pop Century is a nice resort, but POFQ is my favorite by far.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I am going to try to stick it out at POFQ because that is, by far, my favorite. We have never gone together as a family and I am hoping to make it memorable. I am watching out for the discounts that are hopefully coming. If there is some sort of discount for either free dining or a %off then I will probably stay where we are at.
