I have a crazy question???

Does anyone have a picture, or can direct me to one, of a beaver tail??

I have never had one or seen one and I am just so curious as to what they look like.

Many thanks,
Kim:crazy:

Kim, did you ever have fried dough?

I had beaver tail in Ottawa, Canada. It was fried dough. I imagine that' what it is at WDW, too.

(course, if it has bones, its another dish entirely! )

Hi Kim,

There are pictures of all the different kinds of Beaver Tails on their website...

http://www.beavertailsinc.com/product.html#3

My favourite is the apple and cinnamon :p They've also got a map to all their different locations... so, maybe they've got one close to you!

Chip126 If you look at the Disney food album in the link below, there is a picture of the cinnamon sugar and strawberry beavertails.

Speaking of beavertails...
Will the CM cut the beavertail in half so you can share it with someone?

As I recall, they have plastic knives there so if the CM doesn't have a knife you can DIY.

I am drooling for a maple/chocolate one! And the Epcot location is the closest location to me!!

Oh, well, I'll get a fix in June!

MMM! You are making me hungry. We just decided to go to WDW next week, I cannot wait to eat one.

I actually have tried to cut those things myself (the strawberry ones). It is really hard. It would be a lot easier if they would cut it first before the topping is put on. I'll find out for myself in about 4 weeks. :)

Don't shoot me here, but ...........

I don't think they are all that great. Yes they are good, but I have had them once and I don't think that I will be getting one again. I would much rather have a Napoleon from France.

I guess I am spoiled because growing up we had a fried dough place at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore City that was awesome. I don't think the Beaver Tail can compare. I think I was spending too much time comparing and not enjoying.

they were tough the CM did not have a knife and pointed us to the little plastic one and we could not rip it for anything.

After two of three tough, chewy attempts, and ending up with more topings on me than in me, I gave up on the sharing concept and just conceded to DH to enjoy it however he could.

Our DD loves them but Imho we would rather have a Funnel Cake.

ROFLMAO... I worked at Annie's Fried Dough at the Inner Harbor when I was a teenager! My aunt's friend was the owner, and I worked there when I stayed with her one summer... what a small world! BTW, by the end of the summer, I was SOOOO sick of the smell of fried dough!

Oh my GOD!!!!! That place was awesome!!!!!!!!! Every Sunday after church we went to the Harbor. They had the best fried dough ever. Much, much, much better than a beaver tail.

Thanks so much for posting the name of the place. But now I want to go there! I haven't been to the Harbor in so long. Do you know if it's still there?

Your pictures look great.

I can't wait to try the strawberry beavertail.

I hope it's not like the dole whip. I read so much about the DW here I could'nt wait to taste it. I took 2 spoonfuls and ended up throwing it way. :(

My son loved the DWs.

Well I tried one for the first time in December. It looked like a old shoe leather heaped in Nutella. It tasted vile. I had 2 mouthfuls, the second only to confirm what the first already knew. I was sick within the hour. My chap ate about the same. I thought it smelt bad and was greasy.

We do like the funnel cakes though.

The Beavertails are now done differently at WDW which is a shame. A few years back I had the maple & Chocolate & the apple. (Note: Eat AWAY from WIND!) It blew my hair into the sticky maple and that was a mess).

Anyway, they use to fry them fresh as you waited. Now they are pre-fried and warmed up. It changed the texture of the tail and the grease gets more into the dough. This was probably your problem Muppet.

I am now switching to Kaki Gori and the Kringla bakery for my sweet fix.
