Crazy Prices! I found XYZ for $ here and XYZ for $$$ there!

I keep meaning to start a price book. I wonder if there's an app for that? Anyone know? I have an iPod touch and an Android phone, so either one would work for me.

I'm planning on making a mobile version of my site (groceryprice.info). I haven't seen a site or app that allows people to do it. I've only seen Excel spreadsheets used (or the paper/pen method of course).

I started tracking prices over the last 6 months or so and have been kicking myself that I didn't start doing it earlier. It's become tedious trying to track lots of stuff so I'm trying to build a site so everyone can share prices. If anyone's interested the site is at groceryprice.info.

Also, I'd be interested in any tips anyone has about getting better mileage out of a pricebook.

I started a pricebook a couple of months ago when gas prices began going up drastically. I knew that meant food prices would explode and I wanted to see how much the food items we buy would increase in price.

Last week I stopped at Homeland to buy some lettuce and a couple other items. For a three pack of Romaine hearts, it was $6.99. :scared1: There was no way I was paying that for lettuce. I drove a couple of miles to Walmart and the exact same item was $2.78. I rarely shop in Homeland because unless it's on sale, their prices are outrageous here.

We planted a large variety of lettuce seeds in our garden. In another week or two, I won't have to buy lettuce for several months. We'll just walk out back and pick what we need! I can't wait. :cool1:

Good thinking. I have some friends that just decided to go the organic route. Talking with them made me want to start a garden. Maybe even get a hen or two for some fresh eggs, haha. Prices on food, especially healthy stuff, is pretty outrageous these days.
