Trying universal for the first time in 9 years.......the draw of hog warts was too strong to resist! Since we are driving down due to exorbitant airline pricing... And my DH, DS AND DD will fly home on a cheaper day at the end of our universal experience. It leaves my eldest DS and to drive home.

Since we will be soooooooo close, I couldn't resist sneaking a one night stay "on our way home to NY" at the poly - studio lake view. I explained to my DH that this was to "see the room size and if we could fit there comfortably as a family of 5 for a future trip". No parks , just resort and a breakfast at O'Hana..... I didn't tell him about that

Any suggestions for this mini stay? What should I request for this one night for room location? Silly to say , I am almost more excited about this than my universal trip!!:rolleyes1 What are others thoughts on the room size... My kids ages are below to give u an idea..... We own bay lake because of room sizes, low yearly maintenance and of course the monorail:cloud9:. But the poly is my favorite theming.

I think it's a good idea to try. I did not have any requests for our Poly studio stay last August, and we got a second floor villa near the outside staircase, and we thought it was a good location. I would make a request of "higher floor" so you do get a better view of the castle and fireworks without the bungalows being right in front of you. Enjoy your stay, we did, and I did get the dole whip and we shared Tonga Toast from Kona Café!

When you are deciding about the room for the family, keep in mind you could book two rooms and request a connecting room. That would probably work well with your teenagers.

If you have problems sleeping due to noise issues you could as to be on the western end of the building away from the TTC ferry. But to me it would be better to request a high floor for the view of the castle.
