Crazy lines for Grinchmas

Just wanted to give anyone planning on seeing the Grinchmas show a heads up. We were there this past Saturday and did not get a chance to see it due to the super long lines. We arrived for the 11:45 show within the suggested 20 minutes. (Keep in mind this is a week when we would arrive right before other shows in the parks and they were half empty). And there was already a good sized line for the 12:45 show. There was no way my kids could handle waiting over an hour for the next show, so we decided to do a few rides in that area and then see if it settled down. Nope. It was worse! When we were in the High in the Sky ride, they had already closed off for the 12:45 show and were starting the next line, 45 minutes before it started! I realize it being the first day of Grinchmas and a Saturday did not work in our favor, but I still hadn't expected it to be that bad during a low-medium crowd day.

Thanks for letting us know. I am headed out this week-thur, fri and sat. We only have a couple Must-do's and that is at the top of list. Any idea how early they start the show? Or is there a listing anywhere of the show times for the parks?

I found it online on the Universal website. I looked it up on Friday for the Saturday since the park map changes then. I don't have the map from Saturday lying around anymore though. For Saturday was 11:45, 12:45, 1:45, and then it wasn't every hour after that for this past Saturday. They listed the times for other days during this week as well - I'm thinking it didn't start much earlier than that on the other days.

We went to the 1:30 show today. Walked up at about 1:26 and got in no problem. Theatre was about 80% full. Sounds like Kohlby just experienced opening day crowds. The map says times for 12/6-11 are: 11:30, 12:30, 1:30, 3:45, 4:45 5:45. Hope this helps!
