Crazy Haunted Mansion game!

I just played a game of Haunted Mansion with VMK_Runo, Coriadner, CDNMickey, CL_Twirlergirl, and a few others. It was the most insanely crazy busy game I've played thus far! I was a ghost catching mad girl! In the first round alone, I caught 52 ghosts! I was shocked! In the second round, I caught over 20, and my team won! I caught well over half the ghosts caught by my team. It was an amazing game.

It was annoying, though. I caught over 70 ghosts, and I only got 180 credits!

I think I may have figured out the scoring though. I think a large number of my ghosts were my opponents. I think you get double on the score, but only 5 points per ghost for them.

But we sure did have a lot of fun. It was one of the best games ever!

I am not good at that game at all! I have a really hard time moving around, and keep getting stuck.

Well I FINALLY learned the trick to this after my 12 year old daughter asked me why I was clicking my mouse in the Haunted Mansion game. You basically just move the mouse to where you want your character to go. I was clicking instead and not really going anywhere plus I was getting stuck a lot. I bet many others are doing the same thing. Hopefully this tidbit of info. will help others. I sure wish I had known earlier.... I feel like such an idiot.

I tried the not clicking and still couldn't move, in fact my mouse would be on one side of the room and my character would be zooming around on the other side of the room paying no mind to me and my mouse.

Sometimes I can do fairly good, but most times, it's like someone else is controling me.

That was an amazing game, rolls! It is such fun to watch you run around and suck up those ghosts! That is why I don't get many, too busy watching you. (Yeh, sure that is why)

I do not use the mouse at all. I find it much easier and quicker to use the arrow keys and control to use the ghost sucker.

And yes thanks for the great tip on how to play with the mouse i don't get stuck as much ( now just have to learn how to control that thing and stop running right in to the ghosts - lol )

I get all sorts of mouse problems. Like Coriander, I also have a problem
with standing still even though my mouse thinks I should move.

That's Frozen Tundra Syndrome, folks.
The character just stays frozen in time, and just sits there waiting
for the ghosts of the opposite color to get me.

The funniest is when I think I'm going to crash the game, and suddenly,
it's like the Keystone Kops took over my screen! Zoom! Zoom!
Everyone is running around in hyperspeed! That's another fast way
for me to turn into a ghost.

Poor Mal. I was not good luck for her. Every time I played with her
on my team, I think we lost, didn't we? When I played against her,
I beat her. We had some good games with alienoutlawz, DisAeryn,
CL_Patchy, and CL_NikkiBell. I also got the chance to play with
"the other Lori" aka mickeysmagic, and we won.

What did I get for playing a game with her? A 1000 credit bonus!!
CL_TwirlerGirl stated that she got that bonus for "nothing special", too.
I'd expect Jellyrolls to get that bonus. The highest bonuses I've
gotten were the 10th game 500 credits and the random bonus of 250
every once in a while.

This was definitely a marathon night for me. That last game put me over
30,000 credits! Woot! (Ok, I would have still been over that milestone
had I not bought extra snowman magic pins.)

The same thing happens with me as with Cat Herder. I will be trying to go one way and my character will be going the opposite way across the room.
When my character gets stuck, I click the arrow button and then go back to using the mouse. That will usually help me to be able to move again.

DoomCookie told me she once got a bonus that was enough to by a snowman pin and a toy solider (2500) because the ghosts were terrified of her.

I've gotten the random 250 and 500 credit bonuses here and there. I've probably earned close to 50,000 credits playing the game the past couple of weeks. Right now, I have about 23,000 saved up. I've bought a lot of stuff for my nephew in the past week (probably to the tune of 25,000 credits. Ouch. Good thing I love the boy).

I've tried not clicking but I get stuck in some places. The graveyard scene with the split-level is insane! There are so many twisted corridors that I get stuck for almost the whole game. I wish they had an alternative keyboard that included the angle directions. I've also found that I score more when there are only two people playing.

Ideally, I like to play the game one on one or two on two. No more than three on two. If there are too many people, it just goes insane--like the Keystone Kops as BriarLori said.

I also try to sign off and sign on after three or four games to try to avoid the inevitable crash.

Last night I was playing with a kid who I nicknamed shemp because he kept on trying to catch the wrong ghosts, and then he would get caught, and I'd catch him. He played on my team once, and the other the second time.

I also still get stuck from time to time. But usually if I just move my mouse and hold it stead, little Jellyrolls will come.

I am about really to tear my eyes out. I'm soooooo tired of the Haunted Mansion game and it's bugs. I will have my mouse pointer on one side of the room chasing a ghost and my character will be zomming around on the other side of the room paying no mind to me at all. I will move the pointer over the character and for a moment it will follow but then it is gone again. If I manage to get it to follow a ghost into a corner it will turn in the opposit direction of the ghost and spray behind. Then I'm generally stuck in the corner for a few seconds and a ghost of the other color will come get it.

The only job it has is to follow the mouse pointer, right? Why doesn't it?

I just played two good games of Haunted Mansion, and it was the best games I've ever played. There were fewer players than a full team, and I did wind up losing on my team, but I did have better control of my player. All I had to do was turn my keyboard to 11:00 and use the arrow keys. If I get stuck, I switch to the mouse. I was able to get more ghosts than I would if it was a full team. I also played a full game each, and added to my core credit count to over 4,000. BOO-Yah!
