Cranberry & Pineapple Continued.....Again.

We had an absolute fabulous time at the Brown Palace. Very romantic. We did a couples massage and then when we got back to the room, there was a rose petal turndown, bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. We had dinner reservations for 830 so we had the strawberries and a glass of champagne while we got ready. We had dinner at the Palace Arms which was very good. Then for breakfast the next morning we ordered room service. We loved it! Brad is ready to make that an anniversary tradition.

No,not a nurse. I am a medical technologist, which means I work in a lab running tests. I work at a fertility clinic. Not in the embryology lab where they do IVF, but in the clinical lab. We do all of the pre-ivf workup. We run hormones tests, communicable disease tests and do the workup on the guys, semen analysis, freezes, washes for inseminations ,just to name a few. We are pretty much busy year round. We just hired 4 new people in June. It takes about 3 or 4 months to get fully trained. So, I am hoping by September they will be mostly trained and life will be better.

Oh your weekend sounds heavenly. We use to go somewhere every anniversary but we stopped since it is such a pain to get off work. Plus ours is in the middle of winter.

I asked you about nursing because Mac is wanting to go into that field. Her grades are good but not good enough to get into the programs here. She has 2 years to bring them up though. She has a very solid B average but in NC that is not good enough to go into nursing school. Her counselor has already told us she might have to go the 2 year routine and start work then go back to school.

We are going to the pool today. I really do not feel like it though. I went to bed with a horrible migraine last night. My head is better but I have the hangover from it. When that happens to me I can get another one in a moments notice. Which actually last nights hit me within seconds. I hate to cancel going to the pool because I canceled yesterday going out to dinner with her. I also do not want to stay at the house either. I am finally getting bored! lol I thought I would go nuts after lunch time yesterday. OK, off to do some house work and walk so I can do whatever I decide to do later today.

Hmmm what type critters?
Deer, marmots, pika...we walked right through a herd of bighorn sheep and on the way down spotted a male dusky grouse trying to attract a mate (we didn't know exactly what it was until we looked it up later at a visitors' center).

We did something similar for our tenth anniversary...stayed at the Brown Palace, had a bottle of wine instead of champagne and went to Comedy Works because one of Tammy's favorite comedians was appearing. Didn't do the massage, though.

Jrsy - Sounds like some nice hikes. I saw some pictures for Mt. Washburn and it looked beautiful. Yeah, there is firehole, boiling river, and one by Madison campground to swim in. There are also some 2 day hikes that get you to some areas too that looked interesting, but we won't be backpacking so won't be attempting those!
I remember there was also swimming in the river near Mammoth Hot Springs. We weren't up for any long hikes, either, but Mt. Washburn had been recommended. If you haven't before, when you are at Old Faithful, go inside the Old Faithful Inn; the lobby is amazing. Also, there is an article about Yellowstone in National Geographic; I haven't read it yet but one of my coworkers just handed it to me.

Wow I am so tired. I got 2 hours of sleep Friday night about 6, Saturday night and 4 Sunday night. I had a blast though. I got called up on stage at Chippendales and I caught one of the guys shirts. That was pretty awesome! I sung kareoke at Kahunaville. I just love that bar. I really figured out I am into flairing bartenders. I got to watch a little bit of a competition yesterday before I left. I am going to post pics on facebook sometime. I bought my dress for the picture tonight. It's very cute, a flapper style black and white dress. I'm going to wear it in Vegas when I go back in November. I am still wanting to go in September but if I do, it will be pretty much alone. Have I mentioned I have a thing for flair bartenders. ;):rolleyes1:rolleyes::upsidedow

Jrsy - I thought I remember hearing somewhere that Disney's Wilderness Lodge is modeled after the Old Faithful Inn.

Marcie - I know, I know, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas but I really want to know more about these flair bartenders! Wow possibly 2 more Vegas vacations this year, you are so lucky!

Okay, when I was there last month I met this guy, the bartender and we totally hit it off, playing around, like we could be really good friend/buddies. He told me all about his girlfriend and we talked a lot. So, I ran into him this time and he pretty much told me within 10 minutes he was single. I was like what happened to your girlfriend, she left him. So, he asked me to hang out when he got off of work and we did, then i watched him practice for his competition and watched him compete. He is so funny, he told me I am always smiling, he's always laughing. We just really relate to each other and I could easily, easily fall for him. The weird part, when we opened our casino's here, he took a job here for awhile. He lived 30 minutes from me when 911 went on. He told me if we would have met then he would have definitely been wanting to date me. But, yeah, timing, i was married then.

The night before I was at kahunaville hanging at the bar and enjoying the bartender that I had met there a year ago. hahaha, he invited me to the flair comp on Sat night. Elton the bartender I like asks me, "so you have a thing for bartenders huh" it was funny. I just like outgoing happy men i guess.

So, I'm really thinking about going back in September to see the Lifehouse concert. But, Elton is working, my friend Beth who lives there says she won't know if she could make it until right before. So, I may be going to a concert alone. Is that weird????

We are booking our Thanksgiving girls Vegas trip this week.

Marcie it sounds like you had an awesome time. You deserve it.

Mac and I had a great time at the pool today. She did get a bit sick because she did not drink enough water. It was when we were leaving to go get something to eat. She got up and within 15 steps had to sit down. I grabbed a bottle of water which was warm and made her attempt to drink some. Which made her almost throw up. Crystal ran to get some ice but they were out. Two girls were leaving with a cooler and gave me some ice. I put that on the back of her neck and within minutes she was feeling much better. Darren had ran to get his Jeep to drive us back to the apartment since we were unsure if she could walk. Crystal did get a cold bottle of water and that helped too. After she got to feeling better we took her for dinner at one of my favorite places.

Marcie - Sounds like fun! Any pics of Elton???!!!!! I am not sure if I could go to a concert by myself, I have to have a friend to talk to! How cute, you sound so happy. I am glad you are enjoying yourself.

Selena - glad you had a good day at the pool. Poor Mac, glad she cooled down and started feeling better.

So there are two rumors running around work about me. I feel so important that people care enough to talk about me, let alone in 2 different states. :rotfl2: The Washington DC rumor is that I am pregnant, and the Denver rumor is that I am looking for a new job. My boss approached me yesterday to see if I really was looking for a new job. But fortunately that rumor worked out for me because now I get my Friday's off again. :thumbsup2

Marcie, I once won tickets to see Big Head Todd & The Monsters at a small theater in Boulder, but it was a CD release performance in the middle of the day in the middle of the week, so I couldn't find anyone to go with me, either. I went alone and still enjoyed it. You have to remember that you'll be surrounded by like-minded people so it will be like being at a concert with a bunch of friends.

Heidi & Sandy...another Yellowstone tip: when we were staying at the Snow Lodge, we were getting coffee from a counter-service place attached to the lodge. I noticed on their menu that you could also get beer there with your meal and it was $4 for a can of Fat Tire or Moose Drool or Trout Slayer. Right next door at the General Store, those same cans were selling for $1.59. The prices in the General Stores were quite reasonable, including at the lunch counters; it wasn't like the price gouging you get at Elitch's or even WDW.

I'm hoping to have my photos ready to share after lunch today.

Jrsy - thanks for the tip, we will have to check out the general stores when we run out of stuff! Can't wait to see your pics!

THANKS Jrsy for the tip! Any money saving tip is great for us! Pulling that RV around will be quite costly for gas....LOL. Oh well, we are on vacation!

lol I am glad you have your Friday's off again. I know how upset you were over that. Now to the other rumor...you did not say if it's true or false.

I know you are excited. You leave tomorrow or Friday, right?

I am having issues with the barometric pressure craziness here. Anytime we have a huge difference I have migraines. I am fighting one pretty decently today. I am suppose to go out later with friends back to Firebirds but if my head does not get better soon I will not go. WHile it is not a full blown migraine it is attempting to be one.

I did get my exercise in before this hit and I made myself eat most of a half of a sandwich. I just do not want to eat. I also am doing laundry. Fun Fun.

I did promise the kids Krispy Kreme donuts today. I have to take a shower to do that since I have not done so since walking this morning.

Today is Hump Day.

11 more days until our B2B cruises. I am excited but then again with having to go back to work to those catty women when I come back...it is just a bit hard to get too excited. lol

All of the villages had gas pumps and I think the 87 octane (which would be "plus" rather than "regular" but they didn't have anything lower) was $2.99/gallon. We paid something like $2.69/gallon in Cody and Gardiner but as low as $2.34/gallon in Casper.

Jrsy - thanks for the gas prices, unfortunately we have to fill up with Diesel. Hoping it is around the same price!

Selena - I am fighting a migraine too, and I also think it is due to the barometric pressure. Both Rumors are FALSE. :lmao:
