Everyone have fun on their vacations! I am just working, working working.... I am supposed to work 27 hours a week or so. Last week I had 42, this week I will have at least 40 maybe a couple of hours more. Man, I will be glad when we have all of the new employees trained.
We did drive straight through, both there and back; it took about 10 hours. We headed up through Fort Collins to Laramie to Rawlins through Lander and DuBois to Grand Teton, then north to Yellowstone. There was a lot of road construction between DuBois and Moran Junction, so you will want to reconsider if you were planning on taking that route. There is also a lot of road construction inside the park just north of the south entrance. When we left yesterday, we took the east entrance and went through Cody, Thermopolis and Shoshoni then picked up I-25 in Casper.Jrsy, what route are you taking to Yellowstone? Are you driving straight through? I am guessing you are. We probably won't because of driving a tad slower with the RV.
It was incredible being in Yellowstone, just sucked getting there and home. I wore shorts the entire time; the temps were probably in the mid to high 70s during the day but cooler at night. We had rain on Friday morning and a storm passed through both on Friday and Saturday afternoons, so just be prepared for that just as you would here. Also, make sure you pack your DEET! We learned that there are 40 different types of mosquitoes in Yellowstone and I think we may have met each one.Jrsy - How was Yellowstone? What's the weather like there? I am trying to decide what to pack!
Selena - Feel better. That sucks having to get ready for the party and being sick. Hopefully you were able to enjoy the party. Any pictures?

Marcie - How was Vegas?
Cristi - Hope you had a good weekend.
We spent the weeking trying to get ready for our road trip. Tonight is grocery shopping. It seems that I am fighting a cold or something so I am trying to beat it before it gets me!
Welcome back Jrsy. Thanks for your advice. I passed it on to Ted.
Selena, I have used Shirley before. She definitely is one of the nicest people we will encounter in our lifetime. Sure would love to know what in the world went on here on the DIS! I plan to call her when we get back from Yellowstone to get a basket going for Ted. I came up with that idea to get Ted Pepsi for the Sept cruise. Shirley will get him a Pepsi 12 pack, margarita mix, nachos and can't remember what else I thought of. OH-OH
Better run. Have to get ready for the Yellowstone trip.
We hiked to the top of Mt. Washburn on Saturday morning, which took about 3 hours r/t but was well worth it just for the view and all the critters we saw. We also wanted to do Uncle Tom's trail, but it was closed so we just hiked along the south rim to Artist's Point. We also went down to Brink of the Lower Falls and Red Rock Point, which were both very steep with a lot of switchbacks. We only wore boots for Mt. Washburn; the rest we did in sneakers or sandals.Jrsy - thanks for the temps! What hikes did you take in yellowstone? We are staying at Fishing Bridge. Just doing some research about where to swim there. Sounds like a few places we can swim where the hot water meets up with the river.

Can't help you with swimming. We saw a lot of people swimming up by Firehole Canyon but I don't remember any of the other spots. Certainly didn't see any in the Hayden Valley with all of the bison.
Cristi, wow, lots of hours but just think of it this way.....more money for a vacation after it all calms down. Hey wait. You had a nice weekend at the Brown Palace. How did that go?
Very romantic. We did a couples massage and then when we got back to the room, there was a rose petal turndown, bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. We had dinner reservations for 830 so we had the strawberries and a glass of champagne while we got ready. We had dinner at the Palace Arms which was very good. Then for breakfast the next morning we ordered room service. We loved it! Brad is ready to make that an anniversary tradition.Cristi are you a nurse?
Cristi - how romantic! Did Brad plan all that?
