Cranberry & Pineapple Continued.....Again.

I'm all packed and have my suitcase at work. I'm leaving straight from here to the airport at 3.

Everyone have fun on their vacations! I am just working, working working.... I am supposed to work 27 hours a week or so. Last week I had 42, this week I will have at least 40 maybe a couple of hours more. Man, I will be glad when we have all of the new employees trained.

Cristi - Wow, you are overworked....you need to take a vacation!

Have fun Marcie.
Have fun Jrsy!

Selena, that drink sounds awesome. I will have to give that one a try!

Cristi, wow, lots of hours but just think of it this way.....more money for a vacation after it all calms down. Hey wait. You had a nice weekend at the Brown Palace. How did that go?

Cristi are you a nurse?

The party went awesomely. I did wake up with a cold yesterday morning and felt like crap until much later in the afternoon. Thank goodness I killed myself on Friday to get so much done. Otherwise it would not have gotten done. I now have laryngitis. lol Go figure. I hope this is not going to become a trend that I get it everytime I get a cold. I can not miss that much of work. YIKES!! lol

How everyone had a great weekend.

Selena - Feel better. That sucks having to get ready for the party and being sick. Hopefully you were able to enjoy the party. Any pictures?

Jrsy - How was Yellowstone? What's the weather like there? I am trying to decide what to pack!

Marcie - How was Vegas?

Cristi - Hope you had a good weekend.

We spent the weeking trying to get ready for our road trip. Tonight is grocery shopping. It seems that I am fighting a cold or something so I am trying to beat it before it gets me!

:confused3Jrsy, what route are you taking to Yellowstone? Are you driving straight through? I am guessing you are. We probably won't because of driving a tad slower with the RV.
We did drive straight through, both there and back; it took about 10 hours. We headed up through Fort Collins to Laramie to Rawlins through Lander and DuBois to Grand Teton, then north to Yellowstone. There was a lot of road construction between DuBois and Moran Junction, so you will want to reconsider if you were planning on taking that route. There is also a lot of road construction inside the park just north of the south entrance. When we left yesterday, we took the east entrance and went through Cody, Thermopolis and Shoshoni then picked up I-25 in Casper.

It was incredible being in Yellowstone, just sucked getting there and home. I wore shorts the entire time; the temps were probably in the mid to high 70s during the day but cooler at night. We had rain on Friday morning and a storm passed through both on Friday and Saturday afternoons, so just be prepared for that just as you would here. Also, make sure you pack your DEET! We learned that there are 40 different types of mosquitoes in Yellowstone and I think we may have met each one.

Where are you guys staying again? Now that I have a better sense of the park, I'll know better where you will be.

Yes I have posted pictures on facebook. Of course there are no pictures of me since I took the pictures. lol

I feel some better today. I am just exhausted from trying to talk. I am attempting to give my voice a rest but it is hard considering the kids have done nothing but argue all morning long. I finally had to tell E if he did not stop I was taking the XBox away. I think he thinks I have because he has not mentioned it or been on it since. lol

I have cleaned up and did my laundry for the day. Also went to the grocery store. Now I am going to take a nap.

I am pretty sure some of you guys said you have used Shirley from A Perfect Gift before.

I am editing this post to make some changes on what I have done.

I have been talking/chatting with her some on another board. I gave her my email address and asked her to contact me. If she did not I was going to contact her via her website, which I have bookmarked. Anyway, we have been chatting by email for a few days. She seems to be such a great person. Due to something that happened to her on that board she did not feel 100% comfortable in knowing if I was legit. I do not want to break any rules here so I will not go into that but I would have felt the same way. Anyways, after reading her last email, I could not wait for my voice to get any better so I called her. She is a VERY nice person.

We spoke for a while and she gave me her number in case if I need someone while in Cocoa Beach. I am sure this will help Jeff to feel more comfortable with his ladies out of town.

My orginial post was asking which cruise should I order a goody from Shirley for MacKenzie. Well, after talking to her and she passed me to one of her employees I ordered. I am so excited. I figured the stuff I already have her will need to be given to her prior to the cruise so it can help to entertain her on the drive down. I have chocolate covered strawberries ordered already for the room. So, with this in mind I ordered the goody from A Perfect Gift for the second cruise.

I am so excited!! I ordered her a purple mesh beach bag, a Cocoa Beach shirt, Cocoa Beach Frisby, Plain pink or purple water bottle, a Barnes and Noble puzzle brain teaser book, water, juice, candy and chips. I am so excited for her to get this!!!

Welcome back Jrsy. Thanks for your advice. I passed it on to Ted.

Selena, I have used Shirley before. She definitely is one of the nicest people we will encounter in our lifetime. Sure would love to know what in the world went on here on the DIS! I plan to call her when we get back from Yellowstone to get a basket going for Ted. I came up with that idea to get Ted Pepsi for the Sept cruise. Shirley will get him a Pepsi 12 pack, margarita mix, nachos and can't remember what else I thought of. OH-OH

Better run. Have to get ready for the Yellowstone trip.

It was not something here that happened. It was something on another board. She is awesome. I want her to adopt me. I now have her phone numbers and I know Jeff will feel better knowing someone is there for his girls while we have a short stay in her city.

Selena - I LOVE Shirley. Sounds like you are getting the same thing I did for the girls from her. We had one purple mesh bag and one blue. Both were filled with candy, chips, pretzles, water, drinks, photo book, waterproof holder, magazines, etc. I loved it and so did the girls! I talked a lot with her because she is from Key West and is a conch and so is my MIL. I tried getting the two in touch with each other. Shirley is a little older than my MIL, but she did recognize the family name.

Jrsy - thanks for the temps! What hikes did you take in yellowstone? We are staying at Fishing Bridge. Just doing some research about where to swim there. Sounds like a few places we can swim where the hot water meets up with the river.

We hiked to the top of Mt. Washburn on Saturday morning, which took about 3 hours r/t but was well worth it just for the view and all the critters we saw. We also wanted to do Uncle Tom's trail, but it was closed so we just hiked along the south rim to Artist's Point. We also went down to Brink of the Lower Falls and Red Rock Point, which were both very steep with a lot of switchbacks. We only wore boots for Mt. Washburn; the rest we did in sneakers or sandals.

Can't help you with swimming. We saw a lot of people swimming up by Firehole Canyon but I don't remember any of the other spots. Certainly didn't see any in the Hayden Valley with all of the bison.

Hmmm what type critters?

Cristi, wow, lots of hours but just think of it this way.....more money for a vacation after it all calms down. Hey wait. You had a nice weekend at the Brown Palace. How did that go?

We had an absolute fabulous time at the Brown Palace. Very romantic. We did a couples massage and then when we got back to the room, there was a rose petal turndown, bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. We had dinner reservations for 830 so we had the strawberries and a glass of champagne while we got ready. We had dinner at the Palace Arms which was very good. Then for breakfast the next morning we ordered room service. We loved it! Brad is ready to make that an anniversary tradition.

Cristi are you a nurse?

No,not a nurse. I am a medical technologist, which means I work in a lab running tests. I work at a fertility clinic. Not in the embryology lab where they do IVF, but in the clinical lab. We do all of the pre-ivf workup. We run hormones tests, communicable disease tests and do the workup on the guys, semen analysis, freezes, washes for inseminations ,just to name a few. We are pretty much busy year round. We just hired 4 new people in June. It takes about 3 or 4 months to get fully trained. So, I am hoping by September they will be mostly trained and life will be better.

Welcome back Jrsy! Sounds like you had a great time

I hope you are feeling better Selena. Your basket for Mac sounds great. I have never used Shirley, but she seems like a great person from her posts on the boards.

Cristi - how romantic! Did Brad plan all that?

Jrsy - Sounds like some nice hikes. I saw some pictures for Mt. Washburn and it looked beautiful. Yeah, there is firehole, boiling river, and one by Madison campground to swim in. There are also some 2 day hikes that get you to some areas too that looked interesting, but we won't be backpacking so won't be attempting those!

Cristi - how romantic! Did Brad plan all that?

A few months ago he mentioned to me that he thought we should do the Brown Palace for our anniversary(we stayed there on our wedding night). Then as it got closer, probably 2 weeks out or so he said that he wanted us to do a couples massage and eat at the Palace Arms. When he called to book it, they said it would be cheaper to get the romance package which had the turndown, champange and strawberries (and breakfast).
