Selena, I *need* one!! Please!

It's been a terrible, busy week. We received a few students from New Orleans, I only have one, but I purchased him his school supplies for my class. His house is ok, and he says he "can't wait to go back". I haven't asked about extended family, but his parents are in NJ with him.
The worst part of my week was that a senior at the high school passed away Monday morning. His friends are having a very hard time dealing with it, they handled it all wrong (the school I mean) they pulled the kids one by one Monday am 2nd period and their VP told them then they got sent back to class. Of course they were a wreck! Then the school didn't make a formal announcement, or organize a memorial or anything until a few of his teachers got so distraught they went up to the prinicipal to vent their frustrations (I give them *a lot* of credit there!) It has just been a very emotional week, and very exhausting. Since it's September, I am virtually a stranger to my students. They are hurting and I don't know what to do, since I don't really know them yet. On top of it all, my outlet needs to be fixed, so only one works, so I only have fans in the back of the room. These kids were ready to pass out. And so was I.

Just got off the phone with my insurance, which mistakenly denied my claim - took over an hour to figure out their mistake. Ugh.

Karen- I *love* Journey! There is a Journey cover band that frequents bars in my area called "Separate Ways". The lead singer looks/sounds exactly like Steve Perry! That's terrible about the belly dancing- some people can't let others be happy.

I will talk to you all soon, after I get everything straightened out here.

I did manage to make Spa reservations (Rasul, Ionithermie, Couples' Massage) and Palo reservations online today! Yes! One bright spot!

LuLu I am so sorry your week was bad. Oh awful when you have a student pass away and worse when the school does not handle it properly. We had a student commit sucide a couple of years ago and it was handled ok. It was very sad.

The insurance tried to deny your claim? DH works insurance and he can be a real jerk sometimes when I hear him on the phone. I am glad it worked out in the end.

Well we are going to the movies in a little while and then off to the mall after that. I have a wedding to go to next weekend and I have to find something appropriate to wear. I have a real nice skirt so I am taking it to my favorite store (which happens to be in the mall) to have them help me find a top that will look good with it. The skirt is really dressy but strange. LOL Maybe I will take a picture and let you see because it is a little weird looking...
Did I mentione I hate to shop and I hate the Mall even more. But my favorite store is located in the dang thing so I will brave the crowd and go.

Hi everyone! Im just sitting here watching the weather channel. They are predicting the new hurricane Rita to come right to us. Hope everyone had a good Monday. Guess what my DH came home today from New Orleans for 2 days, he's gonna help me in case we have to evacuate.

I'm sitting here watching the weather channel and sending prayers for everyone of you guys in the south to come through this next one safely.

We have only just this last Friday finally gotten our godchild home to the pacific northwest from New Orleans. For a time we did not even know if he had survived.....and we rejoice in his return.

Tomorrow I get to play legal hooky from work to travel to Ashland Oregon, home of a phenominal Shakespeare theater company. I get to visit the costume shop to find costumes for two productions I am doing next spring. I am so excited. I think I will be overwhelmed at all the possibilities. I told the director I will feel like a kid in a candy shop....."one of these and two of these, and ooooh what is that pretty thing over there please?"

She says she is feeling like she is going to Disneyland......oh so not true for me. This won't be like Disney....maybe like I've died and gone to costume designer heaven......but not Disney. What was she thinking?

Selena - I forgot to add that I think that skirt would be perfect if you had a nice top to go with it.

One top is red and black with a little sparkle...but I can not wear it the skirt rides low on my waist and that shirt does not come down far enough. I do not think it would be cool to show my tummy at an evening wedding....
The other is hot pink and lacy....classy though not cheap looking. I might go with it. I bought a dress....but guess what it is black. I do not know why I always buy black. I am taking the dress and blouse I purchased to wear as a jacket back today. I really do not care for it at all. I am hoping to find a top that comes down long. I might have to run to Kohl's...at one time they had a few cool tops I liked. I probably will spend a fortune on the bra to go under it.

Selena ~ Your skirt sounds wonderful and a hot pink top sounds even better. I love hot pink and black. However, you are right.... it will cost MORE for the bra than the whole outfit combined!!! THAT is a shame.

Selena, I am going to a wedding in Nov and plan to wear my black semi formal dress from the cruise. I was told that black is appropriate now at weddings.
