Marcie- glad all is going well!

Karen- I once made those cherries! I took a huge jar, dumped out ALL the juice and added vodka. I let them soak and forgot about them until a week later. I took them out - me, my boyfriend and my dad tried one. We all spit them out! They were soooo strong! I defintely had to ditch them. I tried them again, except I only poured out half the juice and used 1/2 rum and only let them soak one night. Those were good.
Another thing we did in college was to soak watermelon in vodka.Again, it was a little too strong for me, but it's another idea!

Selena- Congrats on the body fat percentages and measurements! That is awesome! I am nowhere near that! lol But mine get a little better each month so I'll just keep on truckin I guess.

I am sorry that the Curves employee wasn't too helpful for you- there's probably better workers there so see if you get a good vibe from another person and talk to them or the owner. Plus, as we said before, each Curves takes their own little spin on things. If there's another one close by, make a visit- it might be better. My friend lives 40 minutes away but goes to the Curves in my town because she likes it better. We have 2 circuits- so one's a quieter room, one's the "party" room! We have great music, great decorations. They put up our names on stars with how many lbs./inches we've lost. They do Curves shake samples once a week. They have a special day once a week where if you wear something (like "America Day!" wear red, white and blue! or "Lipstick Day" wear bright lipstick! or Easter Bonnet Day wear Easter hat, must be homemade!) you get a Curves dollar. If you work out 3 x week you get a Curves dollar, if you refer someone, you get 2, if it's your birthday you get one, if you lose 5 lbs in a month, you get one, if you lose 5 inches in a month you get one, etc. (there's more) They have a little gift shop. Once a week or every other week, they have a special evening guest- a yoga instructor, a makeup artist, a psychologist, a masseuse, a girl who makes homemade jewelry, a nutritionist, etc. Once a week Tuesday nights we have our diet club meeting. Sometimes we have a "roll the dice" (big fuzzy ones) and if you get a "7" you get a dollar. or a ring toss where you get a dollar (everyone gets one turn). We have a birthday raffle once a week where all people with birthdays go in a fishbowl and one winner gets a 3 day vacation on a list of resorts. We also have another one of those for a gift basket (different each week) except all those who got weighed and measured get a ticket for that fishbowl. The best is the hall of fame! Pictures and letters from all those who have lost weight! And the woman who has lost the most weight that month gets a HUGE poster and tshirt and gets that month free! I really love it! I wish all were like this!

I am also sorry to hear about your mom. My mom has had a lump removed twice- first was cancerous, she had radiation, tamoxifen, everything. then she had it again but it was benign, now she has another "knot" just like you described! It's actually a good thing that it's appeared quickly and there was nothing on her mammogram in Jan- it's means it's much more likely that it's an infection not cancer. My mom is having the surgery in Sept to get it out. Let me know what the doctor decides to do. It's really hard to have someone you are close to (you're always close to your mother even if you don't get along) go throught something like this. I just wanted to tell you that my thoughts are with you and your mom and I understand what you're going through. Also, my mother wouldn't do the tamoxifen again. She completed the 5 years, but had lots of problems - she had tumors on her ovaries which the doctor says was because of the tamoxifen. Interestingly, it was that experience which drove her to weight loss- having to have so many gynocologist appointments, breast exams, etc. so overweight was humiliating for her. (She hadn't had a gyno appointment for 20 years!) She decided she needed to lose the weight, and lost 120 lbs! Anyway, I just wanted you to know that you are not alone and that my thoughts are with you and I am hoping that it works out to be something minor.

Now, I am off to make a shake - I"m starving. Unfortunately there are no LA weight loss centers in my area- closest in 40 minutes away. I have an old set of Deal A Meal cards- they were my first diet when I was 11- I lost 15 lbs then on them, so I might start that up again. I just don't feel like going back to Weight Watchers though I like the program. Well, the new Curves diet comes out in Sept. so I'll check that out when I can, too. But I MUST do something in the meantime!

Hi Guys!!! I keep reading but Ihave had company and birthdays all week and it doesn't stop until next Tuesday. I keep reading everyone and wanting to write but I run out of time!!!
Selena~ I wasn't all that close to my mom and also I was not the favorite.I knew she loved me and I loved her but she too was into herself... a bit selfish and she always had to top everything I said. THEN... she got sick. I never got my mom to take care of me and "mother" me and in the end I had the opportunity to turn around and "mother" her. It was easy to forgive, especially knowing I just lost my dad. So, we never had close times, but the last week, just loving her and letting all issues go, was ok. Of course she never even had a clue there was a problem (because her needs were always being met) but it was just not worth me upsetting her and "clearing my mind". So I literally let her rest in peace. I got to be with her a week and when she was at that point I could see she knew what she was missing so I loved her all the more so she could be happy. Sometimes you just have to do your best and that is as far as it can go. Sometimes you need two to complete that task at hand. As long as you can do the best you can, you should be good. I am glad it is just an infection though... it may have given her a big enough scare to make some chages.

Enough of the heavy.... I now need a drink!!!! (Too early :scratchin )

Anyway, loud toes are fun toes!!!!!!!! And fun toes make happy feet!!!! Too bad you couldn't paint your toes a bright color, get some tiny Mickey stickers, place them on the nail and then paint clear poish on top!!!! That would be the kicker!!!!!!

OK girls I must go. I will keep reading and hopefully try to get back with you. ON my way to Sams Club. Karen :cool1:

WOW!! All 3 of us were responding at the same time!

Selena~ I never would have pictured you that way... it is nice to see you!!! You and your children are beautiful.

Lulu~ I have a great Curves that I go to also that do alot of incentives and have games. It is great!!! I go 20 minutes out of the way to go to this one. There is on one mile away from me, but it is not as good.

I REALLY need to go now. Bye guys!!! :wave2:

Selena - those type of people how you described your mom does make it harder to get a long with them.

So does my mom, but she favors my twin sister!!! ;) Just kidding!!! Fortunately my mom and I are so extremely close and I can literally call her my best friend. We have such a great relationship, I wish everyone could have what my mom and I have.

Now Sandy you leave very soon. Are you ready? Have you packed?
What are you bringing Heidi back? :rotfl:
I agree with this statement, what are you bringing me back? :teeth: You better bring me back ATLEAST one bedtime mint!!!!!!!

If I was smart enough to figure out how to post a picture, I would!!! How do you post a picture and I will gladly do it!!!! I want to put a face to a name also!!!!

Awww, Selena I just saw your picture!!!! I pictured you with darker hair. Your kids are so cute...you better be careful when they get older, they may be heartbreakers.

Wow a lot of people posted since I started my post!!!!

Curves sounds like a lot of fun, my mom's Curves wasn't even close to being that fun and creative.

My mom is one of those ME people. It is all about her and no one else. It has always been that way. She is also one of those people who has favorites. My brother was it so I got to hear all the put downs. Now my Mac is here favorite grandchild. Which is rather funny because she thinks Mac is the only one who likes her, but MacKenzie does not really like to be around her. Erik is the one who probably likes her best. I would love to have a mom I could have a good time with. She critizes everything I do. I can not make her happy. So for my sanity and my families I just try to not have much to do with her. I do not limit her time with the kids unless the kids do not want to be around her. It really is better for my peace of mind to not be around her much. With age she has only gotten worse. My parents are divorced. They drove each other nuts and still do but not as bad now. I try to be there for her but it is very hard to be around a person who puts you down and tells you how bad you are everytime she has a chance. She never can find the positive in anything.

She is my mom reguardless of anything she is still my mom and I do love her.

Now Sandy you leave very soon. Are you ready? Have you packed?
What are you bringing Heidi back? :rotfl:

I weighed myself this morning and I am down about 4 pounds. :rotfl2: I guess alot of yesterday was water weight!

You know we have to post pictures on here so we know what everone looks like. I have a good one of me with the kids at Christmas. My tree looks pitiful because we only did a little to it until Jeff was able to come home. He was gone from Labor day until 9 dyas prior to Christmas last year.

I will find it and post it on her.

Sel

This is the same for me. My Mom is all about her, she talks about herself constantly. Lately I just listen though. My brother was always her favorite until my DD was born. Now Aerial is her favorite which in turn was something my brother couldn't handle. He now has hardly anything to do with the family. I have not spoken to him once since he left after the funeral. He did hug me though. I just think we could be there for each other but I guess he can't handle that. My parents divorced when I was 4. Very tough growing up that way. I don't feel like I can lean on my Mom with my grief of my Dad, but I just talk to her more I guess. Last year I visited maybe 3 times in the year. I have already gone twice this year in the past 2 months since I lost my Dad. Maybe I feel she knew apart of him that I could hold on to. For now, it is working for me. I do know what you mean though. Usually I cringe when she calls. Just thought I would share. I was definitely a daddies girl.

Now, cruise talk haha. I been trying to co-ordinate one outfit, casual, not totally matching but enough to take a nice family photo on the cruise, I love that lifestyle photo. That has been taking up all of my thinking today.
:rotfl:

Had to edit to say very nice pic Selena, I should look for one to post too.

I learned how to post a picture by reading the pic of the day thread.

I started a free account on photobucket dot com
I then put in my cd and chose which pictures I wanted to download.
Once you download you highlight the IMG and Copy and paste.

If I can do it anyone can. :teeth:

That picture is a good picture of me. I do not normally take good pictures at all. I think it had to do with the kids on either side of me. :rotfl2:

Yeah Mac had a boyfriend last year in 6th grade. Erik had girls write him love letters all the time. Lord help us when he decides to like them back! He is a hambone while Mac is more quiet.

oh my gosh, so many posts and so little time.

Selena, "me" kind of people are hard to understand. Do your best and be comfortable with your decision! I, too, thought that you would have dark hair. Great picture. Now if we can figure out how to post a pic! What color hair does everyone think I have?

Talking about boyfriends at a young age, Heidi had a boyfriend in PRESCHOOL and pretty much all the way through the grades.

Heidi, your post made me feel warm and fuzzy. Thanks! We ARE best friends, aren't we?! How do you post several different quotes in one post? I have needed to do that several times but couldn't figure it out.

Marcie, I love the coordinating outfits for pictures. Wish I did that when the family was young!

Karen, dreaming of those cherries. Did you go to Sam's Club for the BIG jar of cherries? lol

Lulu, your Curves sounds perfect. I honestly don't think you could improve of a place like that! Lucky you!

That is so funny that you guys thought of me with darker hard! I have always had light hair but it did darken when I had Erik. Now I have a lot of gray, but being a blonde you cannot tell that I do. I do have it highlighted to make me feel better.

Yes I do deal with my mom the only way I know how and that is with distance. I can hardly stand to be alone with her or even alone with the kids with her. She is not as bad when Jeff or my dad is around. I cringe alot when she calls.

Wow I can see it now a large jar of cherries from Sam's or Costco that have been soaked in 151! Pop one in when you get home from work. Yummm. I might have to go and buy a jar. I have the 151. This will help me when I have to go back to school/work next week!

Sandy, let me see I think light hair for youm maybe not blonde but light brown maybe???

I DID get those cherries at Sams!!!! How did you guys know????? It IS the big one!!!!!! I am going to try to water them down a bit with the cherry juice again... ( I can't even believe I am saying that!!!!) and then I want to can them and save them for gifts. I have another jar of cherries, but I won't let them get as potent. I would like to taste the cherries next time (and I'm the rum drinker!!! sad, sad day I am saying this!!!).

Selena~ when do you start work/school? Oh, I pictured you with dark hair also.

Jiminy & Heidi ~ you guys have what I have with my 25 yr old daughter. It is a wondeful thing. I learned how to treat my kids from the way my mom treated me... so, I didn't really lose in the end.

I don't think I could ever learn to post a pic. Well, I guess I could, I would just have to get my kids to figure it out and help me! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

OK, another birthday done and one more next week and Iam over for the year!!!!!! :wizard: :wizard: I am pooped and going to bed!!! See you guys tomorrow! Sleep tight! Karen

Thanks for the lesson on posting a picture. When I get back over to my mom's house I will post our pictures!!!!!

I have light brown hair, people actually call it "dirty blonde" but I think it is more of a light brown!!!!

Nope Selena, you are wrong. I have red hair with natural gray streaks( :rotfl2: ). Let's see, what am I bringing Heidi home???? Lots of shot glasses. :rotfl: The funny part is.....it is true. My lush of a daughter collects them.

Karen, I had to laugh at you going to Sam's Club and getting caught by us. Too much cherry talk. I just knew you were headed there for the BIG jar. :rotfl:

Off and running. Have a hair appointment. Some last minute shopping for the trip and whatever else I can get in to. Heidi, I am running to See's to get Nic some candy. Want to thank him with what he likes!

Heidi, you can post one of our last cruise pictures. Thank goodness I have YOU. I can't do anything on the computer! I might try and make a magnet of Julies pic and you and Stacey and family for the cruise. Wish me luck. :wizard:

Selena - you are a genious, it worked!!!! This isn't the greatest picture of me but it is the only on I have at work!!!

Great picture Heidi!!!

I have dark brown hair with lighter brown highlights. Guess I better start looking for a picture.

My dd is 11 and we are very close. She tells me she just doesn't get it how I do not get along with my Mother. I am very fortunate to have such a great relationship with my dd.

Marcie my DD is 12. Wow we really do need to cruise together so the girls would have a blast! My relationship with Mac is great. Or at least I think it is. :rotfl2: She will tell you I am mean. :rotfl2: Imagine making her do things around the house. Nah she loves me. I am sending E off to my dad's Friday so I can take her to see Must Love Dogs.

Heidi what a great picture. You are pretty. You look the way I imagined!

Now, Sandy, I did not imagine you with red hair! I should have considering you are our fireball.

Karen you better post a pic!!

When I get back from my cruise I will try to post a pic of the cruise if I look good in it!!! Don't want to scare you gals. I really do take awful pictures on a normal basis.

LuLu, I went to curves today. My poor little arms hurt! When I went in today a lady from our old church was there and I talked with her. I asked loads of questions. I told her about the various cool things that is offered at other Curves and asked if we might do it here! She liked the belly dancing idea.

I agree, it would be great to all cruise together. Aerial will be 12 before we cruise. October 19th is her birthday. They would have a blast I am sure.

Guess what 99 days now!!!! I'm down to double digits. Let's dance. :dancer: :rockband:

My best friend and I took a belly dancing class after she had her son. It was for 6 weeks and a lot of fun. Many classes we would get the giggles because some of the moves were so hard and it was so funny to watch people try and do it!!!

Thanks for the compliments. I am not too fond of that picture but will post a better picture that includes my mom this weekend!!!!

Now everyone. Any picture Heidi will post will be my FAT picture. Don't have any of me thin. Just wanted to warn everyone ahead of time.!!

Me a fireball.......nah.
