Have fun Lulu!!!!!!!!!! Merry Christmas!!!! We will be thinking about you!! Happy New Years!!! We miss you already!!!!!
:grouphug: :grouphug: Karen
PS Merry Christmas everyone! Hope everyone had a wonderful day!!!

Oh Lulu you are gone. I hope you have a magical cruise. I can hardly wait to hear all about it when you get back.

My letters came from http://www.123glitter.com/animated/12/

My friend Janet told me about them. Are they kewl????

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.

I know what E did was a typical thing to do heck I would have done the same thing if I has the op at his age. Oh he would do it again in a heart beat too. I know him way to well. He loved the fact he knew what he was getting. He is such a turkey. Anyway next year the receipts will be kept at my work and the presents will be where we kept the last year. There will be no way they can look before Christmas. Not taking any chances next year.
There just will not be a present under the tree until Christmas morning. LOL
My poor tree will look lonely.

Here is a receipe for you all.
Chocolate Martini
1 oz Godiva Liguior
1 oz Baileys
3/4 oz vodka
shake with ice, strain and serve. Yum

Hi everyone!!! I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas. Mine was bittersweet but I did okay. My worst day was on my Dad's birthday on Friday. Anyway, I am so looking forward to a new year. I just told my DH do not complain about the year we just had because it can always get worst. Every time I thought it was bad it did get worst. So, no jinxing next year. We are just going to party with BBCs and hope for the best. :goodvibes

My DH bought me a very nice nike sports watch for Christmas that I can use to go jet skiiing and on the cruise. It has a setting to have 2 time zones on it where I just push a button to flip to the other. It is too cool. Aerial was happy with her IPod I could hear the music while it was in her ears LOL. She is gone now for a week to her Dad's. Usually I get her every year for the first week of her holiday until after Christmas and then she goes to his house until after New Years.

We went to Applebee's the other day and I tried this Pumpkin Pie Martini. (I try anything pumpkin) and it was so disgusting. Dane had gotten some ice cream liquer drink and I ended up sharing it with him. It was yummmy.

Yesterday we watched the WDW parade and I was getting all sad because I had to miss a lot of disney since I got sick while we were on our trip. So we have decided if at all possible we are leaving for our trip in July a day early and going to Animal Kingdom. We missed that and our dinner at 'Ohana due to me being sick. Now I am excited. I will have to work a lot of overtime this tax season to pay for all of this. :rotfl:

Oh, I also got the complete first season of desparate housewives on DVD for Christmas. That was nice because I never have time to watch tv so I can watch 20 or 30 minutes at a time. I started it last night. I've been working on my scrapbook of our trip too, I'm on day 3.

Lulu I am so excited for you. I hope you are having a blast.

I've missed you all through this long weekend.

Marcie I am glad you had a pretty good Christmas. I am sure each year will get better and better. Like you said next year has to be better.

Does Ariel's day live close by? I know you will miss her too. But think of all the alone time you and Dane will have for this week. Try not to work too hard during tax season. I was wondering when it will get bad on you. Just try to stop by and say hi every once in a while.

Good morning everyone. I hope you all are warm and had a wonderful Christmas.

Here is a receipe I just got from Tommy, a friend from another board, thought I would share it with you guys. They say is is just great. I am thinking about making it this coming weekend.

HASH BROWN BAKE

3 cups frozen shredded potatoes
1/3 cup butter or margerine, melted
1 cup finely chopped cooked ham
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded Cheddar cheese
1/4 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
2 large eggs, beaten
1/2 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

* Thaw potatoes between layers of paper towels to remove excess moisture. Press potatoes into bottom and up sides of an ungreased 9-inch pieplate; drizzle with butter.
* Bake at 425* for 25 minutes or until lightly browned; cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes.
* Combine ham, cheese, and bell pepper: spoon into potato shell. Combine eggs and the next 3 ingredients. stirring well; pour egg mixture over ham mixture.
* Bake at 350* for 25 to 30 minutes or until set; let stand 10 minutes before serving. Yield:6-8 servings

Jrsy... do you think I can mix up the inards of that dip and then last minute, put it in the oven at the 400 degrees for the what? hour?? I have togo back and look. Anyway, can I mix it up early so that part is done?
Sorry I didn't get back to you quick enough. I tried to post when I first read this, but was at home and my connection was slow as molasses. Hope it worked out.

Sandy & Heidi, glad it was a hit for you guys. DW made the Red Hot Jello for Christmas dinner and it was well received. I haven't tried it yet, though. I did inhale some of the ginger ale/red hot mixture as they were dissolving and had a coughing fit as a result.

Jsme said:
Yeah we know as a man your mind is on sex 90% of the time.
I don't deny that... ;)

Oh my goodness JrsyBoy. My dh and I had the same coughing attack while making the jello. But, it was well worth it. We all enjoyed it.

I feel bad that I was too busy wrapped up in the holidays and didn't get to say goodbye to Lulu. Hopefully she will get on the board while she is gone.

Yum, BBC's.

I know there was other things to address but at my age, I think I did pretty good. By the way, who ever posted the recipe for the potato egg casserole, it sounds good. I will have to try it.

Things will hopefully slow down here so I can properly address all of you! Marcie, you were on my mind because of your dad and my mom. Here's to a happier 2006!

Sandy the Hashbrown casserole does sound great doesn't it. Some of my buddies on another board fix it. Janet said that it is great with Italian bread. She also said some of her family was making sandwiches out of it. She loves to cook. Everytime she starts talking about cooking she makes my mouth water. I am thinking about fixing it for the weekend.

Hi Selena, glad to see you posting again!! Hmmmm, sandwiches out of it.....I don't know about that!

Good morning all, back to work as you can see.

Selena - that recipe sounds delicious, I love anything with ham.

Speaking of ham...Jrsy Boy - did you know that the McDonalds at Southwest Plaza DOES NOT have any McMuffin sandwiches, what is up with that? Thanks for the dip recipe, everybody loved it...that was the first thing gone even before the deviled eggs!!!

LuLU - I hope you are having a great vacation. I thought of you over the weekend, but couldn't post. I can't wait to hear about your trip and see pictures. How did your parents like their freezer?

What good gifts did everyone get?

I had a good christmas, we went to my sisters house and ate breakfast and opened presents and then dropped off Chris's girls at their mom's house (for Jrsy Boy, we live in Littleton and she lives on Johnstown...very far drive about 2 1/2 hours round trip) and then went and saw Cheaper by the dozen 2 and King Kong.

My boyfriend said this is the best christmas he was ever had because he got to celebrate it with the girls and see their faces when santa came and I cried because it is the worst one I have had, we are missing 3 people that were very close to us, but we made it through.

Hi everyone....
Heidi.... :grouphug: you actually made me tear up. I am sorry you had such a heartbreaking Christmas, and I am thankful for the rays of joy that WERE thrown in there. It is so hard, but now Christmas is over and a new year will come and hopefully it will be alot easier!!!
Lulu!!!!! We miss you!!!!
Marcie!!! Howdy doody!! Glad you got all your drinks under control!! :rotfl2: I would NEVER try a pumpkin drink aside from maybe a pumpkin latte at Starbucks... definately no kind of pumpkintini.....
Oh Sandy baby :rolleyes1 .... hope you are handling things ok also... I think of you often.
Selena . . . that hashbrown thing sounds wonderful. I may even try that!!! I already have my menu for when my sister comes for the cruise the end of Feb... how bad is that? In fact, did I tell you guys I just ordered a Mickey waffle iron? Half price? It goes along withthe Mickey ice cube tray and Mickey pancake mold..... :confused3 can't help it!!!!!!
I don't know if I will get around to making that jell-o but it sure sounds good. I did buy all the ingredients, so maybe this week before everyone starts up their diets again. I can almost feel the ginger choke as I type!!! I am well prepared!!!
Jrsy.... the dip was great. Next time I will not put in as many jalepenos though. My DH did NOT get me a chocolate fountain.... I got a hot cocoa maker..... he drinks hot cocoa......
It is a nice little gadget though and I have already used it alot. I thought he bought it so he can finally make ME something to drink in bed.... but I am wrong.... this was so I can make better hot cocoa to serve to HIM in bed!!
Oh well. I also got a bunch of Starbucks gift cards... probably $40 worth. I stop there almost every day before work and I work 4 days a week, so I should get all the way to the cruise with these!!! :goodvibes
My DH was a dear and bought me all kinds of alcohol for when my sister comes. I got Starbucks liqueor, apple, blue raspberry martini stuff, cosmopolitan mix, raspberry vodka and chocolate vodka and Baileys!!! (thank goodness b/c we drank a whole bottle Christmas eve!!!) So... that was a VERY fun gift!!! Oh... along with a travel shaker!!! :teeth:
OK guys.. hope all is well with everyone. See you later.

Hmmm...I can't even recall the last time I was in a McDonald's...and I consider that a good thing.

Glad the dip was a hit. Did you end up doing two of them right away or keeping some extra for refilling?

I don't think I've ever actually done the jalapeno garnish on it, mostly because I know too many people who are wussy eaters.

We got our chocolate fountain and used it on Christmas. It is pretty cool but we probably need to increase the amount of chocolate next time. We used Ghiardelli that is meant for dipping and came in a big block from Sam's Club. We probably could have used a block and a half.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned that it was 69 degrees on Christmas! My family in NJ was jealous that I was outside grilling steaks for Christmas dinner. Their weather was rainy and miserable.

Good morning to all of my funky monkeys!!! Heidi I can understand so well yours and Sandy's sadness at Christmas :grouphug: I did good though. I only cried on his birthday (the 23rd). I am just so glad it's over.

Selena, we usually start working overtime on the third week in January. But, it won't get super busy until the middle of february. After that I stay busy nonstop until it's over. It's a good thing I love what I do because it is very hectic.

Awww Karen, he got you a present to make him something. I hope you are enjoying it some too. Just about every night of winter we make hot chocolate. It's become such a habit one of us will say, ready for some hot chocolate.

Jrysboy, rain on Christmas :confused3 It was in the 60s and sunny here. It's been pretty warm the last week, highs in low 70s this week.

We just finally got a bid on our new roof and it is outrageous. I was really hoping we could pay someone to do it, but my DH is now saying he's going to have to do it because it's too high to pay someone else. :confused3

Anybody ever watch desparate housewives? I'm on DVD #3 of the 6 DVD set first series. I'm enjoying it.

Marcie... I DO remember you drink hot chocolate every night. There are a couple recipes I may try for me. I am enjoying making "homemade hot cocoa" for my grandaughter, however, I am going to have to start adding splenda instead of sugar... she has been flying around like Tinkerbell lately!!!!
I put a roof on my garage a few years ago and it really wasn't too hard. The roof was a very easy ordinary roof though. Actually.. I have done a few roofs now that I think of it. He will do fine.
Jrsy... I saved the one dip and just used it as regular dip.. still have some and I grab a few chips each night before bed... jalepenos at midnight.... worth it! Dip was great!
Oh Marcie!! I watch Desperate Housewives also. I love that show!!!

Karen I got the whole first season of Desperate Housewives on DVD for Christmas. I never have time to watch tv when they are scheduled to play so this is great. And, no commercials. I guess when I finish the whole season I'm going to have to try to catch it when it plays because I am getting hooked. :rotfl:

In January I am going back on my diet. So I will have to cut out all that hot chocolate :confused3 I did good for a whole year, then the hurricane happened and I now weigh close to 10 pounds more. I have to get that off before the cruise.

You know how you always regret something you didn't buy on vacation? Well I really wish I would have bought a couple of 6 x 8 picture frames. I am wanting to frame a few of the pictures I bought and put them in my office. I'm going to have to buy some frames off the internet.

Lulu is going to have soooo much fun being on the cruise for New Years. :flower:

OMG!!! I forgot to tell you my favorite gift!!!!! My DD got me a picture frame that is matted white and says Disney Cruise!!!! It has like cut out Mickey heads for pics. As soon as I saw it... I could picture pics of my kids in it and was instantly reminded of the once in a lifetime memory we will make in Feb, and I was instantly brought to tears. So THAT was/is my favorite gift (runs a close tie to the alcohol though!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: )

What...mickey ice cubes???? Where did I miss that at? I want them!!!!

The only time I teared up on gifts was a gift I gave my sister. It was a little ornament that says sisters are forever. She is not really emotional and I didn't think she would even like it but when she opened it up she saod Oh, and then read what it said and started to cry, so of course that set me up to cry.

Here is the picture of the ornament I gave her:
Sistersareforever.jpg

I never got into Desperate Housewives, it plays on a time that I am usually pretty busy out here.

I am addicted to Desperate Housewives. I never watched it until Jeff came home from Florida last year and I was hooked from then on.

Jeff and I do not exchagne gifts on Christmas. My joy at Christmas is watching the kids open gifts. I did get a few thing though. My mom bought me a old granny robe. I could not believe she bought me something that looks that old. Jeff has threatened me that I had better NEVER wear it. I also got some serving dishes from my mom. Once again I have no clue why she bought me this. My favorite gift from mom is my electric bed warmer. I asked for it and love it. The new bedroom we moved into is cold in the winter so this is wonderful. Since it has dual controls Jeff can have his side the temp he wants and I can stay all snug and warm. I got some cash. Well qutie a bit of cash. About $200. Jeff's dad gave me some Hull dishes which was Jeff's grandmothers. She past last year in October. That made me cry. I will treasure it always.

I went to Kohl's and Walmart today to do a little returning and shopping. It was not as bad as I expected.

LuLu I hope you are having a ball.
Is LuLu on a 7 day cruise. I know she said she is on it for New Year's Eve.

:rotfl2: One time Dane's Mom wanted to buy me a robe or pjs or something for Christmas and Dane told her don't you dare buy her anything old looking.
