The recipe calls for one bread bowl to be refilled, but the recipe actually makes enough for two bread bowls. You can get a two-pack of bread bowls at Sam's Club. Also, you don't HAVE to use a stand mixer; regular one and a mixing bowl work fine.

Southwestern Boule Dip

Two 8-ounce packages cream cheese, at room temperature
1 cup sour cream
2 cups salsa (mild or hot)
2 cups grated cheddar cheese
1 16–ounce boule (round loaf of bread)
Large bag of tortilla chips
Jalapenos or other hot peppers (optional)

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Cut off a 1-inch “top” from boule loaf, and set aside. Hollow out the remainder of the loaf to make a bowl, removing excess bread but leaving the crust and about an inch of the interior all around.

Place cream cheese, sour cream and salsa in the bowl of a standing mixer. Combine on medium speed. Remove bowl from mixer and stir in cheddar cheese.

Add mixture to bread bowl. Replace bread top. Completely wrap bread with aluminum foil. Place directly on oven rack and bake for 1½ hours.
Remove bread from oven and peel off aluminum foil. Remove bread top. Serve the bread bowl immediately with tortilla chips. Garnish serving platter with jalapenos or other peppers.

Any extra cheese/salsa mixture can be heated in microwave or regular oven, and used to replenish the boule bowl.

Has this thread been pulled. I am so behind the times. What was going on in it?
Ya, it was pulled last week.

Selena - On my next cruise I would like to go on the banana boat again so that my boyfriend can experience it (although he may already have been on it since he grew up on the beaches of FL and taking day cruises to the Bahamas.

Jrsy Boy - thanks for the recipe.

Hi everyone. I am having a really bad day but I just wanted to pop on and say hi.

Selena - If I remember right the post was about being just a cruise and who really cares about it. I can't remember the rest but Jrsy Boy might remember.

Marcie - what's up? Why is your day so bad? Click on the link I provided and make some paper snowflakes. It is fun and addicting.

Basically started by someone who said everybody needed to get a life and find something better to do than obsess on the details of their Disney cruise because, after all, "it is just a cruise."

I thought I was pretty creative with my snowflakes until I looked in the gallery and realized that I am just a hack. It IS fun, though.

Busy day and more ahead but I just have time to respond to JrsyBoy. Heidi told me you posted a great recipe for a dip after I asked for some ideas. Well, that turkey got to the board before me and claimed it for her on Christmas Eve. Thanks for ATTEMPTING to help me.

I will try and catch up reading tomorrow. Sorry guys.

the early Bird gets the work, too bad so sad. ;)

Marcie~ I hope today is better for you.... do you want me to sing to you? JOY TO THE WORLD....... no? RUDOLPH THE RED NOSED REINDEER.... had a very shiny nose!!! And if you ever saw it.... you would even say it glows (LIKE A LIGHT BULB!!!) All of the other reindeer..... used to laugh and call him names (like Pinnochio!! mean. very mean.) They never let poor Rudolph... join in any reindeer games!!!! (Really, they should have been shot and made jerky.. that was SO cruel!!!) Sing along everybody!!!! Then one foggy Christmas eve Santa came to say!!! Jrsy??? What did he say???
Rudolph with your nose so bright!!! Won't you guiode my sleigh tonight?? (ya, know, I think I would have told Santa... no disrespect, but shove it.... to late buster.... get ouot of this jam yourself!!!!!) Then how the reindeer loved him!!!! As they shouted out with GLEEE.... Rudolph the red nosed reindeer... YOU'LL GO DOWN IN HIS TOR Y!!!!!!!!! (He actually desrves to be claimed a saint in my book!!) Thank you! Thank you all!!! Hope that helps Marcie!!
Jrsy... I think I will try your dip. I am going to Sams if I ever get dressed. Draggin. Was up til 4 this morning and no... I was not partying, unfortunately. In fact, funny thing, I got home from Hard Rock (met my DBF there after I got out of work at midnight). She hit 2 jackpots!!One was over a thousand dollars!! She plays big money slots... I play nickels. I won $100 and walked before Ilost it. Anyway, when I came home my DGD who was sleeping over in my bed...peed my bed and was screaming. You never saw anybody rip off the sheets and change them so quick (kind of felt guilty I went to Hard Rock at that point). Got that done and remembered Purple Heart was coming at 8 in the morning, so, I brought out my stuff and put it on the bench b/c I was intending of sleeping in.
No such luck. When I was out there, what 3:45 I think... I noticed the kids finally put up my angel, but on the opposite end of the house. I got that angel last year when my mom died and I wanted to have it closer to out front door so noone woudl swipe it... you just never know. So at 3:45 in themorning I was dragging this angel across my driveway in my light blue flannel pjs. Iheard a noise and look upi. It was the neighbor going to work. My arms were wrapped around the angel... what a sight. I yelled... "This probably looks a little weird, huh?" Hahaha... his wife was the one who won the jackpot!!! So, anyway, needless to say, I have been doing ;laundry all morning!!!
Hope everyone is up!!!! Love yas!!! :teeth: Karen

For shame, and at Christmastime, too. I hope you are comfortable with your decision knowing that Santa and I are both watching you. If he feels forgiving enough to leave you presents, I am going to take them before you wake up and give them to your mom! Then I am going to do something with your toothbrush that you'd rather not know about...

Oh no not the toothbrush!!

You wouldn't dare.....Did you watch one of the Big Brother reality shows when someone dipped another's toothbrush in the toilet??? Plus it's not like she won't get to eat the dip. Think of it this way, I am preparing the dip and doing all the work while she gets to enjoy the end result.

Karen - you are hilarious. I can just picture you dragging this angel only for your neighbor to see you. My mom and I would have been laughing so hard, I probably would have peed my pants, if it was us.

Yeah Heidi. THE TOOTHBRUSH !!!!

Karen, I can just picture you. :rotfl2: Blue flannel jammies, hair a mess, with a silly grin on your face running across the lawn. At least your neighbor had a good laugh. I have to admit both Heidi and I have had fears of someone running off with our decos but never went out in jammies. :rotfl: Just lost a lot of sleep. Heidi was wrong in her last post. WE would have peed OUR pants. Then that ties in with you doing the sheets because of your granddaughter.

Marcie, hope you will have a brighter day today. :grouphug:

Karen - I have tried 3 different ways to post your pictures that you sent me and for some reason I cannot get it to post, so I will keep trying but I haven't forgotten you.

Heidi... I am thinking it is because I couldn't send them separately to you. I have one on my camera that I can send tomy email and then forward to you. It is nowheres near as good as the close ups, but maybe everyone can see how talented my kids are!!!
Yeah, I am thinking the neighbor was thinking I hit the 151 and wanted to do some dancing and the only one that would do it was the angel!!! :rotfl2:
I haven't even told my DH... he will probably just shake his head. :confused3

Wow Karen that is a great looking GingerMickey!!

Talent your children are....oh I sound like yoda. LOL

Well guys and gals it is only 4 days until Christmas. I am not counting today and not counting Christmas.
You had better be ready by now.

Karen you and the 151! I can see it too.

Wow, went to finish shopping last night and came home exhausted due to fighting all the crowds...it was insane. The least crowded was probably Best Buy and Target which really suprised me. I still want to get earings for the girls and a CD holder for them, I want to get my niece and nephew some books, and scratch tickets for Chris's stocking...other than that I will be done!!!!
