Ok, I went to speech as well. I couldn't say my thr like in mother. It's funny to hear me slip once in awhile and say it the way they taught me.

Jrsy, you must be a proud papa. Way to go Alex!!! I will have to remember to tell Ted.

I couldn't say R's at all. I have a cousin named Amber and I called her Ambo. :rotfl2: And, yes occasionally i hear myself slip on Aerial's name.

My Dad said when I was little I would ask for something and he wouldn't understand me so he would say yes, and then I would do something he didn't want me to. :rotfl2:

Did you ever encounter a wascally wabbit? My best friend in kindergarten had that problem while I had a lisp, so we both got to go to speech.

Wow, good job Alex. :thumbsup2

I went to speech too. No one could understand me for years. Seriously, I thought it was fun too. I took it from when I was 4 through 2nd grade.

Yeah girl, one of the worst things one of my "then" best friends said to me was, you son has his own language. It is amazing even you understand him. She always was saying put downs like this to me. She was one of those parents who thought their kids did NO wrong. Needless to say I dropped that friendship.

We use to do so many fun things in speech.

hey that was my problem too!!! I have never slipped since being released from speech.

Now that is funny about your dad.

You are so mean. lol

WTG Alex. Can I send Erik to you. He has been so good and smart for so long but this last semester he is having issues. He is still smart but he is rebelling on us. We had a long talk with him last night and he is blaming all of the issues on me. I told him I will work on the issues he has and I will try to be a better mom but he has to try to pass 8th grade.

AWESOME JOB Alex. Tell him congrats for us.

I never went to speech, but my sister did. I remember sitting in a Taco Bell with my mom, and I would be eating my nachos while we waited for my sister!

Well, it sounds like Heidi is the only one here that didn't go to speech. Heidi, the taco bell time was a tutor for math and reading comprehension. Stacey had the speech therapy at Dennison.

Marcie, funny story about your dad! I think you out smarted him!

Selena, I sent your post to Stacey about the elementary school giving Erik the speech as young as Tyler. I told her last night that I thought the school district had to help. Hope that is the same here. Oh boy, Erik has hit the teens. Hang in there.

I didn't go to speech either. I was starting to feel left out until Heidi chimed in.

Way to go Alex!

They do have to help!! Much cheaper too.

Oh the things we are going thru with Erik. He has been so good for so long at home and an excellent student. But his teens are really kicking in. I was warned from a lot of my friends that it was 10th grade when it starts. I am thinking with him being as old as some of the 9th graders that it is hitting just a few months early for us but truthfully it has been hard since last year. I know I am a good parent. Or at least as good as they will ever have. I am a much better parent then their father. Not saying Jeff is not a good parent but he lacks in a lot of ways. I did try much harder yesterday to pay more attention to him and really listen when he talks to me. It is hard when he is a sulky teenager. When everything is everyone elses fault than their own. He has always been incrediblity hard headed. We have always told him it is not him with the world rotating around him. However, he has always been the sweetest most kind of both children. More difficult, YES!!! Maybe in the next 4 years things will get better. It's just so hard to see him waste the brillant mind he has and the potential he is capable of.
I did figure out something last night about his behavior. I am not positive this is the reason but he started doing badly in school second semester last year. Which is the same time his best friend moved to our district. Erik informed me that at least his grades were not as bad as CJ. I freaked out and said I did not give a crap about CJ's grades. But with this conversation Erik pointed out his grades started falling last year and he then mentioned CJ moving at second semester. I really feel like CJ has a lot to do with Erik's grades. Now I can not put my finger on how this connects but I do feel this way. Only thing I can figure is Erik does not want to be smart around his friends which made E think he had to have bad grades. But it is at the point the kid has no motivation to do anything what so ever.

OK, sorry I should not have unloaded. lol

TGIF
Thank goodness it's Friday!!!!!!! What a long week. Yes, all 3 days of the work week. I am so exhausted. Anyone else feel tired?

No real plans for the weekend. Mac and I go tomorrow for our pedicure and then we are going to the movies. Erik does have a basketball game. He is coaching with his grandfather. Jeff has to have some work done on his car tomorrow. It is leaking oil and he has put this off since December. I would never have done that with my car.

Morning guys.

Selena, I think you hit it on the head when you said that Erik doesn't want to be smart around his friends. Sad! Reading your post made me think that even before you typed it. I don't know how to correct it but I think you are right. A pedicure sounds so nice right now. I am jealous.

Ted is at the dentist now getting one wisdom tooth out. I can't remember if he needs to be on a special diet after only one. He had one out before. I think if I needed one out that I would have them take 4!!

Selena - it's good you got it out, and glad you can do it here with us. Sounds like E may have a bad influence or maybe they are spending too much time goofing around?

Mom - OMG wisdom teeth HURT, I am so glad I never have to go through that again. I hope dad isn't in any pain. What are you guys doing this weekend?

Tonight after work I am going to have a Wii night with my friend and her son. Her son leaves for FL for 2 months on Monday to be with his dad. She said he is more excited for me coming over then going to see his dad!!!! On Saturday I am hoping to go see my sister, then on Sunday cleaning and laundry while Chris is going to go to a Mac workshop to learn more things to do with his laptop.

Alex finally got Tammy to try Mario Kart last night and now she is complaining that her thumb hurts. I had to explain that the vehicle doesn't go faster if you push the button harder.

Alex is going on a church retreat this weekend, so Tammy and I are on our own. I still have guitar lessons tomorrow, but we are going to get massages in the afternoon.

Selena, I think you are probably right about Erik not wanting to be smart around his friends.

I hope Ted feels okay. Wisdom teeth do hurt! I had all four of mine out at once when I was in college. I was really glad to still be living at home and have my mom there to take care of me and make me mashed potatoes. :)

I got an email from Jacob's teacher the other day. She is concerned about him and how often he drifts off in class. Jacob and I talked about it the other night and tried to come up with a reason why he does that so often. He said that he is thinking about what he is going to do when he gets home (video games). We are putting some big restrictions on those for weekdays now and we will see if that will help. He actually didn't even ask to play the Wii yesterday. He did play his DS for about 10 or 15 minutes, but that was it. I hope it helps. When his mid term grade came out, he had D's in reading comprehension, social studies and science. I think if he would just bring home his notes/books before a test and we could study together he could probably have a B in those classes without a problem. He did bring home his reading and science the other night and had tests on both yesterday. I should find out today how he did.

Sorry this is so long.

Jrsy, Tammy is just too cute.

Cristi, sounds like your little talk with Jacob might be all he needed. I am very thankful that video games weren't around for Stacey and Heidi. Nintendo came out when they were a little older. They never really got into it.
