Cranberry or Pineapple??

Another question for my camping and hiking buddies....


I have to have lotion to use while we are in Punta Cana. I know there is no way I can use anything with a scent. Am I going to be OK and not attrack mosquitoes with an unscented lotion?

Wow Selena, that is a good question. I am a mosquito magnet and use DEET only on my feet in the morning when heading to a beach as the sand fleas (no see-ums) eat me alive. I go back before dinner, shower and put on DEET all over. Before bed I put on lotion and that seems to help me a lot. Lately, I get maybe one or two bites and absolutely none on my feet now. Hope that helps. Costa Rica is suppose to be really bad because of the rain forest. I think I will wear deet day and night. REI sells a very highly recommended one called Jungle Juice. It comes in various forms which I really like. I don't think it has a scent either. We bought some to try out for Costa Rica.

Doesn't Skin So Soft have a lotion? I know some people swear by it because it contains citronella.

Hi guys, busy day here. Heidi and Ted are up skiing and I am helping Stacey get ready for the party.

Busy weekend

We bought Mac a car this weekend. We bought her a used Honda Accord. She is so excited. I can not believe my baby will be 16 in 6 weeks!!

I am dreading work tomorrow. One good thing is the fact I am taking Mac to her ENT appt so I will not have to be there all day. After the appt I have to run to the bank to transfer some funds to pay myself back for her car. lol I used my checking account which has my summer money in there and I need to replace the money with some from my savings account.

Insurance is crazy. It is like a car payment!! I am hoping she can find herself a little job so she can pay for it. That is why we paid for the car so we would not have a car payment on top of insurance. Wow having kids is expensive.

Selena, we bought the girls a used clunker that they absolutely LOVED. It was theirs and they were so proud of it. It was an 84 Plymouth Horizon that we paid 300.00 for. Just wait till you start paying for Senior Pics and all the graduation fees, the college application fees. It just keeps getting worse. Sorry! Heidi and Stacey both worked at a daycare center. They helped out a lot with everything. It was hard having twins and paying two for everything.

Poor little Tyler has been really bad this weekend. They switched him to generic meds and I think it threw him for a loop. A book said that some patients can't do generics. Unfortunately you don't know unless you try.

Heidi is home sick today. She really sounds stuffy. I'm headed to my step dad's to take him out to lunch for his birthday. Luckily, my brother is coming with me. I told him if he would come that I would pay for his meal. LOL

I need pixie dust and prayers. My Uncle is having the least complicated of the 2 surgeries tomorrow to get to his aneuryism. It's in his brain stem. They are going up his groin. If it doesn't work then Wednesday they are going to do the through the scalp brain surgery.

Heidi, hope you feel better. Rachel stayed home sick today and from the way she sounds right now she will probably stay home tomorrow too.

Life is so crazy, last week he was planning to fly to Colorado for a job interview. He lost his job last month and was either moving here by me or Colorado. He got sick the day before he flew. They said if he would have flown it could have burst. They were ready to change their life through a major move, my Aunt (my Dad's baby sister) has never lived anywhere but Lousiana and now they are facing brain surgery. She married him 2 years ago after 14 years single. She is so happy with her love now, she says she's not ready to let go.

Beleive it or not Sandy, I am already saving for Prom for next year. lol I have given her a budget and we will see how far it goes. MacKenzie is my good shopper so I have a feeling she will come out well. Mac's school uses every little detail of graduation as fund rasiers for the school. This means all of the fees are almost doubled to what the high school I work at charges. Thank goodness I have 2 more years to worry about that. Next year will be the year to get her a class ring as well. The one she wants is like $500. I have already told her NO to that one, unless she can pay half of the cost.

I thought 2 children being 2 years apart was hard but I am sure twins was even harder.

Marcie - keeping your uncle in my prayers today. Please let us know how he is doing when you hear something. That is so sad.

Cristi - I hope Rachel is feeling better. I stayed home again today. I probably could have made it but I do not want to pass this on to my coworkers who are 8 months pregnant and it will be good to give me another day to get rest and get better. My voice is really really low!

I have spent the last hour looking for T-shirt designs, I am hoping someone on the DISigns board can help, if not then I am going to have to attempt to get creative (If anyone is creative and has any ideas, please let me know!). My family is doing a Walk for Epilepsy on April 19th for Tyler. It should be fun and we are looking forward to it. My sister found out about it yesterday and we set up our own team, Bubba Team!
