I really have no clue how to use a bulter? Any ideas? I think he just will handle anything we need, right? It also means he has to be tipped. lol Although with the upgrade it includes tips I will still tip people. You just have better service with cash involved, don't you think? But how much do I have to tip him without looking cheap? Maybe we will just not use him much. lol I would hate to appear to be cheap. I also have read if you leave a few dollars your maid will make sure the room is extra clean and leave extra stuff in the mini bar.

Maybe the butler will act like concierge at Disney? I guess maybe he will arrange excursions and transportation for you? Hmmm, interesting! I hate tipping because I don't want to be considered cheap!!!! I have no idea what you would tip him? (Ya, sorry I am not much help!)

Totally agree with this. On our Honeymoon cruise we received EXCELLENT service from the bartender and the pool server because we tipped extra. We got extra things, excellent service, etc. At the end of the cruise we even went down and tipped them $20 each and they didn't know what to do with it, they were so suprised we would actually hand them a $20 bill on top of tipping them for every drink we got.

We get a free butler with our club but we have never actually gone to a First Club resort so we haven't had the pleasure. We definitely tip every meal, maids, and every drink. You definitely get better service but it makes me feel so good as they get paid something like 6.00 a DAY!! Tips are included but management certainly doesn't pay them their tips. This is typical ANY AI resorts. We also bring little treats like chocolate just for something a little above the tips. They absolutely love them. We handed out a huge bag this last time, ran out and then a dive shop employee actually asked us if we have any candy because his kids love them. He didn't even realize that we do that. We tipped a security man that came to fix our safe with money and candy. He was so excited over the candy that I handed over a 16oz bag of M&M's intended for Ted and I. At the end of the last trip I personally gave our night maid money and a shower gift set that I got on clearance for something like 3.00. She kept saying "for me ma'am, for me??? And then she hugged me. Oh man, I have never felt like that before. NEVER! Our congierge on our first trip said to take a long a major league tshirt for bribing the front desk for an upgrade. I don't have the nerves to do that though. We did bring a tshirt but gave it to our favorite waiter.

That is one of the things I was spoiled with on Disney. Jeff and I would come out of the spa and the waiter knew us and would start making our drinks as soon as he saw us come out of the spa. Always mixed strong and delicious. I still believe it was because we always tipped him extra.

Doesn't something little like that make you feel awesome? I normally buy nice Thank You cards and put cash in them. At Disney I buy cool Thank You cards and put cash in the envelopes and put each day of the week on the envelope. This way it is done and I do not have to worry about it. All I do is pick the right day of the week and leave on my bed. Our maid told me that she appreciate because it bought her lunch every day. I guess I was the only person that was tipping her. I may have to start looking for nice cards now so I can find the ones I want. As I get 1's and 5's I will put them aside for the tips. That way I will feel like the tips cost me nothing.

Sandy not sure if the chocolate would work because this hotel is big on giving out chocolate. I guess it is plentiful because a lot of the tripadvisor reports mention chocolate being left every day and extra if you tip.

We are doing good. Went to the nail place and had my toes done for the cruise this evening. I have my bag half packed and inventoried so I can find things. I have a spreadsheet of outfits and what I still need to pack? I have all my clothes I have to put in my bag to the side in my suitcase. I still have to make copies of a spreadsheet and the group cruise schedule. I also have to make envelopes for everyone and put all of this in the envelopes. Susan has coupons from various ports printed and door signs.

Selena, our resorts hand out candy at night as well. There is a big huge controversy on tripadvisor about bringing trinkets and candy. I got soooo mad one time. They pretty much accused me of being cheap and that I should tip only money. I am a big tipper so that isn't an issue. It is just a treat beyond the money. A little extra. Several people came to my rescue. People never cease to amaze me. One person said that we Americans think that Mexico is very poor and it is far from the truth. Even if they make 6.00 per day the cost of living is cheaper there. Ummmm, no! If you go into a Walmart or Sam's Club there, the cost of the items is about the same as here. Gosh, I could go on and on.

Married life is great!!! Since the wedding, I think we have more patience for each other!!!!! My sister is doing okay and hanging in there. I can tell she misses us right now, when I told her we had the girls this weekend she asked if she could have me next weekend. Hopefully my mom and dad can go down and see them sometime this weekend. Since she doesn't know about this thread, I will post that they are treating her with depression and she got her first anti-depression pill prescription this week. I hope this helps her, but I think she is embarrassed about the diagnosis.

I am sure she is clinically depressed. Not a old time depression. She has nothing to be ashamed of whatsoever. Those pills can help a great amount. I am sure she needs something. She told me that what I had was something totally different then the depression our grandmothers had. The best way I can descripe my depression was I felt like I was going to lose my mind or temper all the time. I was always nervous. It really helped me to get over my depression.

Does anyone go to the Weekly Budget thread on here? I always go there and look the thread and posts. I get some really neat things. I love the toothpaste and deodrant samples. They are the same size as the travel size. Today I got a really cool Halloween Bear Naked treat. It came in a huge box. I got a nice Halloween t-shirt (Mac took it), a recycle grocery bag, a sticker and 20 samples packs of garnola, raisins and almonds.

Do you know what they put her on? I was on Lexapro several years go for being clinically depressed. My doctor told me I was clinically depressed and I told her she was crazy.
