Marice sent me a text saying she thinks she will have power around the 23rd. I hope she does. I asked if there was a place they could go during the day to break up the time that had power.

Selena, when I was driving home last night from work I was thinking about Rachel too! Great minds think alike.

I didn't do the trip report last night....instead, I watched Big Brother finale!! I hope Marcie got to see it.

Thanks. Moved across the office yesterday after four years in the same spot, so I had a bit of cleaning up to do. Today I am trying to get caught up on the work I didn't get to yesterday because I was moving and unpacking.

Jeff was told today it is not a matter of if but when and where. This was for Cat Duty. He will go to Texas or Ohio. Ohio is their home office and they had some type of damage from Ike (I guess) there.

Surprisingly enough. Ike did do some damage in Ohio. We have friends that live in the Cleveland area. Schools were closed. Trees were downed etc. Where would Jeff prefer to go?

It was kind of nice today that Marcie was sending pictures. We can now visualize.

I worked over the weekend and didn't get on much, just enough to check on updates on Marci. I am glad she is doing okay. It has got to be hard.

Thanks for the thoughts about Rachel. She is doing fine. It took her a little longer than I thought it would for it to feel better, but it has been pretty good for close to a week now. She wanted to go out to Red Robin over the weekend because she thought she was up for a burger. She did a pretty good job on it too.

I just got home a little bit ago. We had a going away party for our computer guy at work. We went to Rio Grande. I had some yummy mahi mahi tacos and a mango margarita. It was fun. I pulled in to the garage at 8:55 and my house was locked up tight with all the lights off (well Rachel was reading in bed). I can't believe how early everyone went to bed.

There are quite a few areas in Ohio that are still under water. It had been 138yrs since they had so much rain. There are many evacuated neighborhoods, etc....

There are lots of areas in Greater Houston that are getting electricity sooner then expected. A few years ago we were with electricity (from a tornado) for over a week during the summer (think 100 degrees and 70% humidity....). It was NOT a pretty site! SO, I know some of what it is like -- and unfortunately tornados do lots of damage, also.
DH & I were tlaking about really feeling sorry for the residents that are dealing with all the dead, rotting fish and sea life! When the ocean swells the sea life has to go somewhere......

No, we didn't go to Summerset. Did you? Believe it or not we have never been. I keep talking about going, but never seem to make it. Friday night Brad and I left the kids at home and went to dinner and a movie by ourselves. We went and saw the new Pacino/Deniro movie. It was pretty good. I worked all weekend and it was busy so I was pooped when I got home. Brad went to a party with some work friends on Sat night. The kids and I stayed home and played Clue.

I really enjoy summerset, and I drag Chris along with me by saying they have a car show. I love to walk around and look at all the booths and then on to the car show! Friday night they had a great fireworks show that we watched from our balcony. The taste testing is always my favorite part from the people selling homemade goods and I always get the fresh squeezed strawberry lemonade. Somebody was selling great salsa that we wanted to buy but forgot on our way out. There are also a lot of bounce houses that Jeffco sherriffs put on.

Ohio with no questions. Ohio is a 6-8 hour drive from our house. He could come back in time for the cruise much easier than from Texas. We knew some damage happened in Ohio but did not know what exactly.
