Jrsy - your tag is great!!!

Marcie - I can't believe that is all you have left, almost a month.

I added more pictures to Cosmo's photo album, from Texas Roadhouse.

Great pics!

Need some prayer and pixie dust for a fellow diser. My friend's son is in the hospital with an anaerobic infection in his leg following a dog bite. We cruised with them in December and then they came over for dinner Sunday. He had been bitten on Saturday (by their dog) they didn't take him in then, but had talked to a doctor friend of theirs about what to do for it. By the end of the evening here there was an odor from the wound and I had a bad feeling. They took him in on Monday morning and he was admitted for IV antibiotics.

Wow Cristi, sending prayers and pixie dust out for him.

Wow was it ever hot yesterday, we broke a record for the earliest it's been hot in CO History. It was 100 degrees, thank god today is cooler at 86 as we have been sitting in the 90's for the last few weeks. There was a fire that broke out between where my sister lives and where my parents, Cristi, and I live, luckily it is contained. I can't wait to sit at the pool all day on Saturday to cool off!!!

I guess that means if you are going to the pool, Heidi, that I shouldn't even think about doing my hair tomorrow.

Oh where oh where have my DISer friends gone.....oh where oh where can they be?

I'm here. Just kinda tired today. I haven't caught up on my sleep yet from the other night when 3 frogs decided to croak all night right under my house.

:rotfl2: I am sure it isn't funny to you but it sounds hilarious to me. Sorry.

We've got a guy on a Harley who decides to gun it right next to our house at about 5 each morning. Luckily, I am almost ready to get up by then but its still annoying.
Worse is our 12-year-old blind cocker who goes out at night, then comes back in and is concerned about running into the other dog, so he stands in the kitchen and barks until someone tells him that the coast is clear.

Hi, guys!

I am done grading for the year!!!!! :cheer2: :cloud9: :cheer2:

I can DIS!

Marcie- Sorry for the croaking frogs! I have cats who are very (ahem) *affectionate* outside my window at night occasionally. lol.

Jrsy- I also have a neighbor who revs his cycle all the time. His wife likes Salsa music really loud. They are incredibly annoying. The story about your dog made me want to cry. When my puppy was alive, but older he had cataracts and would bark at his reflection in the oven, sliding glass doors, etc. We had little window clings stuck to *everything* low and reflective so he'd know it wasn't another dog.

Cristi- any news on your friend's son yet? I hope everything's ok!

Today was the final exam day for my students and it is always the most hectic day of the year. I didn't even leave school until 6:30 tonight!!! The kids went home at 1:11 and I went to Dunkin Donuts for an iced coffee, and spent the rest of the day in the teachers' room GRADING. Ick. A couple of kids just passed - and really surprised me by getting an 80 or whatever they needed to just get a 69.5 or 70 or whatever. There are still some failures, but no surprises there- they're all kids who knew it all along.

The only thing that really upsets me is this one student. He was very disrespectful from the first day, he is a very low level student and refused to do any work. Since we couldn't give any grade lower than a 50, that's what he got. Halfway through second marking period, he was arrested and put into a halfway house/treatment program instead of jail. Last week the last day of classes before exam review time, he came back. When he transferred, he had a "50" average. Well, this "program" gave him grades for 2nd, 3rd and 4th- all 95's so basically he's passing for the year without having ever done a homework, written an essay or passed a test. To top it all off, when he came back to class he was cocky and disrespectful and vulgar to me and the students. I had security remove him from my room due to his behavior. He was telling everyone how stupid they were for doing work, when he didn't need to do it to pass. He shouted at me "Why you gotta look at me for?" as I was making eye contact with the "talkers" while asking everyone to be quiet. He is paranoid, abusive and does not deserve the break he got. Other students worked hard for their 70's and this is a travesty. I'm so upset. I can't even post anything close to the things he said to me. Even students in my class were outraged at what he said to me and told him to shut up, and that he wasn't cool. That's unbelievable to me. Well, at least I won't have to deal with him anymore.

Anyway, I still haven't found out about the summer job I applied for and I'm nervous bc I really want the extra money. Wish me luck.

I still haven't decided if I should go to graduation this year. It's the 26th which is my birthday and spending 4 hours in an unairconditioned room with 5000 other people isn't how I want to spend my birthday, but I feel bad if I don't go, so I'm not sure.

Anyway, I thought I'd let you guys know how my end of the year stuff went and I'd love to hear what the rest of you guys are up to. It's been pretty quiet lately.

:rotfl2: You just made me laugh. The funniest part was when I came home for lunch and Aerial said to me, "Mom remember when you told me I had to be in bed by midnight"? I said yes. She says, "well I was in bed by 11 but those froges wouldn't let me sleep grrrrrr" :rotfl: All three of us only got a half a night sleep with them. :rotfl2: I don't hear them yet tonight so hopefully they are gone.

You know what I hate is when I get to sleep in on a Saturday and someone mows their grass at 7 a.m.

I can DIS!

:cheer2: :cheer2: Yay!!!! We've missed you.

Marcie has croaking frogs, Jrsy has a blind barking dog, LuLu has affectionate cats and my mom and I have snoring DH/DBF to keep us awake. I wonder what Selena and Cristi have that keeps them awake!!!!

LuLu - welcome back, glad school is over for you and you get a brake. That is so sad that a student disrespects you that much and get an easy out. At least you can focus on your *hopefull* summer job. Pixie dust to you that you get the job.

Jrsy - Did you make it to work today? I was thinking about you when I heard the light rail will be delayed and Santa Fe being closed this morning due to blowing up the hazardous chemicals.

I was still home when all that was going on but we heard the explosion. It was probably a half-mile to the NW of us, on the other side of Santa Fe Drive. Check out this story: BOOM
So, thanks to this, we had helicopters circling our neighborhood this morning. Everything was running again by the time I was headed to work, so here I am!

Shoot, sorry about those helicopters Jrsy! It brings back bad memories of the Columbine incident. The helicopters were flying all day that day. Speaking of helicopters, today we will have it bad with Pres. Clinton coming for the ground breaking ceremony for the Columbine Memorial. Heidi we have to get out of town FAST! Dad is going to try and take Kipling and stay far away from Wads. Or go to the County and come home C470.

Heidi, you were funny about the frogs, cat, dog and snoring.

Hi Lulu. We HOPE to hear a lot more from you.

Awww Karen's email made me tear up. I'm glad she is doing great. Sure do miss her. Jrsy, she said to tell you she's doing okay, and she's turning into a cowgirl.
