Jrsy - have you tried the Tommy Knocker Maple? Chris and Jerry bought a sampler pack and hated it but I liked it!!!

I don't remember. I have had a few from Tommyknockers and I know of that one, I'm just not sure if I've tried it. I know I've had their Butt Head Bock, though.

If I'd only written down every type of beer I've ever tried, I'd have filled several notebooks by now...

Selena - glad you are feeling a little better, that is such a bummer you got 2 rounds of sickness.

I agree! It is a bummer being sick -- I had to get an antibiotic shot last week and a round of 10days of an antibiotic, plus a steroid shot... BLECH!!!!

Unfortunately I still had hours of rehearsals every night, take the kids to their performances, etc.... ACK!

Yesterday I brought Aerial to the CVS minute clinic after work so I wouldn't have to take off. Well they told me it was just allergies and they couldn't give her anything, for her to spray chloroseptic in her throat. :confused3 The lady was very rude and I told her what I thought about that place and that I would not be going back. Aerial has been in bed for 2 days and on Claritan-D. It's not just allergies. So, after paying for that visit, today I called our ENT and got her in. She has pharyngitis. He gave her antibiotics and changed her from Claritan to Zyrtec. So now she is back home in her PJ's and is going to take a nap. She's wanting to go back to school tomorrow. I am hoping since I got her in first thing this morning, after her dose of antibiotics tomorrow she will be getting better.

I didn't read the newest posts because I have to get busy (I'm back at work). So, I hope everyone is doing okay. I'll check back in later.

Am I the only one who has been healthy? I took Alex for his wellness exam yesterday (which we used to call a physical) and he has bronchitis so he is on Zithromax for the next few days. The Dr. asked him if he would be able to swallow a small pill and, even though he has never done it before, he said he could and he was able to do it when we got the prescription filled. He also needed a tetanus booster and surprised me when he didn't even flinch even though the needle must have gone over an inch into his arm muscle.

Wow Alex is brave. I need a tetanus shot because it has been over 10 years since I got my last one...but there is no way I am going in on my own. Someone will have ot bring me in kicking and screaming.

Alex and Aerial, Get Better Soon.

Where has Cristi been?

I am so excited, I get to go skiing tomorrow!!!!! First ski trip of the season. It will be with my dad, his three coworkers and Chris's brother. Chris is going to try and meet us up there after he gets done with work.

I'm the only one that was sick in my house -- it certainly didn't slow me down though! LOL! I still did everything I normally do and more! LOL! The Dr said I had a sinus infection, throat infectiona and a chest infection -- I wasn't coughing but, my lungs were congested and sounded bad.
I only went to the Dr because one of my fingers swelled up and was red adn hot --- dh was afraid that I was becoming septic and wanted me to get a shot QUICK! LOL!

I believe all of mine was caused by allergies!

I still took the kids to all their activities that day/night and since I am part of the onstage tech crew I am rehearsing for at least 3hrs a night myself....... Plus the kids are in shows at 2 different theaters (and they are 30 min & 45min from our house). Every activity the kids are involved in is at least 30 min from the house.....

My thoat gets really red and sore with all the drainage, also! UGH! Chloroseptic will really help with the pain though...... I'm sorry she was rude to you.
I just wish my winter allergies would go away! LOL!

He needed to have this one before he can go into 6th grade. The Dr. said if he didn't get it, he'd have to stay in 5th grade for the rest of his life. Alex was going to tell his teacher that he got a shot that will get him into 6th grade, so he doesn't have to study any more for the rest of the year.

Yes, chloroseptic is good, but I already have that at home. I didn't need to pay a doctor to tell me that. :rotfl: She told me she needed my ex's address since her insurance is with him, so I call him and of course he asks me why she's at the doctor. Well when I start telling him, the Phyisician Assistant says to me, I can call him back later I need to get off the phone and give her some more information. Oh and that was at the beginning of the appointment. Fun, fun

Poor Marcie and Ariel. I am sorry you guys are sick.

I am feeling better today. I have still be careful with what I have been eating though.

Since we had a whole inch of snow and ice last night we are out of school. Nuts! lol Anyway, I have been bored so I have cooked. I now have gumbo fixed and spaghetti. lol I also have some chicken marinating. lol I figure this way we can have gumbo tonight. Spaghetti on Friday and then pizza on Saturday. I am going to fix the chicken for next week.

I think I told you guys about my mom and her heart cath, right? Well I did not understand something he said. My mom went to the doctor for a follow up and he told her that she has some pressure in her heart. She was suppose to have knee replacement surgery on Monday but her cardiologist refused to release her for her surgery. Which I am glad because she was still going to have the knee surgery. Her cardo had to call her ortho dr and told him no way.

Her cardo dr told her that she had to start exercising, lose some weight and have some tests ran. She goes one day next week for some test or another.

Her cardo dr did say she could have the surgery in 2 months. She rescheduled her knee surgery and now is having it March 31. I did not tell her this was when I was suppose to be on a cruise. I now have to cancel my Girls Cruise.

Oh my Selena, if it isn't one thing, it is another for you. You poor thing. Pixie dust for your mom.

As far as that is concerned pixie dust for all you sickies.

Marcie, I think you were treated very badly at the CVS clinic. I think I would be tempted to take it up the the director of the clinic or the store manager. That was not right. You paid for a wrong diagnosis.

Jrsy, I am proud of Alex. What a trooper. He is certainly much more mature than my daughter when it comes to shots! I hope he is doing ok. I had my tetanus shot a couple of months ago. The shot was the easiest, then a couple of days later, a big knot and stiffness. I love his attitude about taking tests the rest of the year. I back him up!!

When I was little they had to hold me down for a shot. I remember getting my tetnus shot very clearly when I was going to high school. My brother brought me so I told myself I had to be brave, since no parent was with me. It was my first shot ever without being held down. :thumbsup2

Hope Alex starts feeling better soon.

Selena, i am heading up to your house for Gumbo & spaghetti. :goodvibes I hope your Mom gets better soon.

15 more minutes of work! :thumbsup2

If they won't do the insurance without his address I would think that it was pretty important that you be on the phone! LOL!

I'm sorry about your mom and about your *girls cruise*! I hope your mom is able to follow through with the Dr's orders!

I am sure your Gumbo is much better than mine. It was the first time I ever made it and it was with a pack that my friend Barbara gave me. She had the neatest New Orleans Gift Bag for me. But come on. I actually liked my Gumbo as good as some we had in New Orleans though.

I do make good spaghetti. It is very thick and has a very tomato base. Not everyone likes it that way. However, if you use a bay leave it will cut the acidic taste. I use fresh garlic.

The brownies are in the oven now. lol I figures since I have lost 6lbs and have been so sick I am going to have a brownie. lol

Marice, I agree about you being treeated badly. You should think of making a complaint.

Jrsy, I am proud of Alex as well. Erik complained a lot while we stood in line for our flu shots. He was good though. It shocked me because the lady he had was rather violent. I felt like it was Norman Bates in the shower scene.

I'm sorry about your mom and about your *girls cruise*! I hope your mom is able to follow through with the Dr's orders!

Right now, my Mom has not choice but to follow his orders. She went for her follow up from her Cath on Monday. This is when he told her about the pressure being high in her heart. He had told me after the cath that day but I did not know what he meant and had no clue to ask. Anyway, when she went he told her she might have something as simple as sleep apnea (sp). I know she has to have a test for that. Plus he told her she must exercise and lose weight. All of those could be a factor. She was not too happy with him and reminded him she is suppose to have the knee surgery. This is when he told her no. She was real upset because she has had a difficult time with getting her iron level in her blood high enough for the surgery. She had to go on a special diet. He told her he would be glad to call her Dr. lol I think she did not realize what he was going to tell that Dr. I am glad he did because then her Ortho Dr refused to do the surgery and told my mom only when the Cardo Dr allowed it. That must have been 2 months because he scheduled the surgery for March 31. He did say he could put her on a waiting list and might can do the surgery before if all of her tests come back OK.

I kind of like gumbo. Not a true fan of cajun cooking.

Selena, hope everything works out for your mom.

Heidi is up skiing with her soon to be BIL and Ted. I am home alone so I went out shopping. Don't think that Ted will want to leave me home alone again. I bought a new winter coat, sweater and two Grandma sweatshirts for me. Then I bought a few sample size Bath and Bodyworks for a special gift for a lady that we are renting a car from in Cozumel. She is so highly recommended on the Trip Advisor forum. Everyone seems to think of her like this board does of Shirley of the Perfect Gift.

Hope everyone is having a better day and all the sickies are getting better.
