Cramming too much into one day?

So we have just one day we can spend at IOA and Universal. Have two boys ( small for their ages at 4 and 6) - so they can only ride Spiderman, Storm Force, Pternadon, Poseidon, Sinbad, Cat in the Ht, High in the Sky, Flying Unicorn, Simpsons, Shrek, Terminator, ET, jaws, Disaster, Twister. They are absolutely crazy about Spiderman, so I have made reservations for Breakfast at Confesco at 9am for the Spiderman Breakfast ( it is a surprise, can't wait to see their faces when he walks up to them).

My question is, keeping in mind the limited rides they can do, is this too ambitious? We are staying at the HRH, so we will have FOTL passes, but after doing the character breakfast, probably it ending around 10am and then we hit the rides, will it be too much? What are your recommendations? We leave next morning to go to WDW, checking in at GF and then going on to the parks, so really not a lot of flexibility there.

Thanks, a bunch for any ideas/suggestions.

You probably won't get Pteranadon Flyers in. You can't use FOTL on it and the lineups are very long unless you go there right at opening.

I would also leave out Poseidon's Fury since it takes up a lot of time and a lot will be missed by the little ones. I would also consider leaving out Terminator.

Then the rest should be quite manageable. Are they tall enough for Spiderman? If so, consider doing it at the beginning and end of the IOA part since the FOTL gives you literally no line at all and for Spiderman lovers, it is excellent. It does toss you around quite a bit, so hang on to those boys!!!

There is also One Fish, Two Fish and Caro-Suess-El in Suess Landing, Camp Jurassic and the Dinosaur Discovery area in Jurassic park, Me Ship Olive and the whole kid's section in Universal with Woody's coaster, Fieval's playland, Barney and the best for young kid's - The Curious George Play area.

If you get to Pt Flyers after your breakfast, you are going to have a significant wait. It is the only ride that does not have Express access and the line forms pretty early. You might want to run over there right before your breakfast or plan on skipping it if the wait is too long.

Other than that, it can be an ambitious schedule, depending on the time of year and what time the parks close and how many times the kids want to reride their favorite rides. It can be done, especially with FOTL and skipping the big rides.

I wouldn't worry too much about it though. Just let the kids have fun and don't stress about getting it all done. If they want to spend an hour in the ball pit at Curious George, climb the rope bridges at Camp Jurassic, watch the dinosaur hatch or want to ride Spiderman 10 times in a row, let them. You will have a fabulous time and great memories whether you get in all the rides or not. When my kids were your kids age, Universal was all about Camp Jurassic. They liked the rides, but we always had to budget a minimum of half an hour in Camp Jurassic and half an hour at Curious George.

And it just leaves something to look forward to with your next trip :goodvibes

Goofy and Damo for the great replies.

I will incorporate these things into the plan...and will NOT overplan. I think I might be doing that with WDW as well, and am trying my best to slow down.

We are going the week of the 15th, we will be at Universal/IOA on the 14th of Sep which is a Sunday, but still hoping it wont be too crowded.

Thanks again,

D

We were at Universal for two nights and one day in the two parks. With ease we were able in the first week of August able to hit up EVERY major ride at Islands of Adventure and Universal..... with a mid day break at Jimmy Buffet's followed by a swim at the pool!!!!!

We rode/saw that day:

IOA
- Hulk
- Spiderman
- Dr. Doom
- Dudely
- Pluto Barges
- Jurassic Park
- Dueling Dragons
- Poseidon
- Elevated sky tour (name lol?)
- Cat In The Hat

Universal (most rides at least twice!!)
- Shrek
- Mummy
- Disaster
- Jaws
- MIB
- Simpsons
- Terminator
- Twister

.....it was literally AWESOME to just show the room keys and never wait more than a minute or two, the extreme being FIVE minutes on Simpsons LOL!!!!

Enjoy yourself, take your time, and it will work out!

Isn't Flying Unicorn closed?

It should be relatively quiet when you go & with FOTL you should be fine.
