Has anyone used this site to get rid of stuff? I have LOTS of stuff that I would love to get rid of but ebay always seems to time consuming? I'm really confused as to how you list stuff (I did sign up for an account) Do they just forward e-mails on to you? Do you get lots of spam? I don't know it just sounds to good to be true?

Anyone have any experiences with Craigslist?

I've bought and sold on Craigslist. It's really easy to use. They just forward emails to you, and I haven't gotten any spam.

Craiglist = :thumbsup2

Just keep in mind - people would be coming to your home, for items (unlike eBay where you can mail, or what have you)

I made a completely seperate email addy - a free one - for Craigslist use. I have gmail invites if youd like one?

:thumbsup2 OmG, I LOVE Craigslist!! I've used it to sell, to buy, to find movers, electricians, handymen, even homes for friends!

My niece first told me about it, I think it originated in San Francisco where she lives. It's become so big in Atlanta that it practically put the entire Classified ad section of the newspaper OUT of business!

It's so easy to use and I've only met wonderful people on that site.

When I was moving I sold a lot of stuff I didn't want to move and made a good bit of money! Since I moved every single thing I've needed I got from someone on Craigslist. Atlanta is a very transient town so there is ALWAYS someone moving and trying to get rid of great stuff, I check the moving sales every weekend!

Yes I've sold stuff thru CL. Love it! :thumbsup2 I never got any spam.

It's a great site but it seemed more popular up in Massachusetts than it is down here in Florida. I call it the Free Ebay. :teeth:

I've sold and bought off of Craigslist. I love it because there are NO fees. Unlike ebay you can take off your old listing (once it gets too far down the list) and relist it. I've sold a rocking chair and an excersize bike. Bought a treadmill for $30, that I recently saw being sold for almost 600 on ebay! LOL

No spam either :)

I'll add into the I love CL! I've bought, sold and gotten things for free off CL, I even got my job and my apartment on CL!

Thanks for all the input!

I'm going to give it a try! hey, all I've lost if nothing sells is a couple minutes of my time!!!

man, i love craigslist, being from the bay area originally was awesome b/c it is so huge there, but its picking up everywhere.

Our friends swear by Craigslist. They recently moved, and sold half of their belongings through Craiglist. It's great because it's local, you can sell big things without worrying about how to send it away. Someone just comes and and takes it away!

I listed my car on Craiglist and got a few bites, but ended up selling it to a neigbor. I have never recived SPAM.

I agree with you. The FL list just doesn't move like some of the others. I wonder why? I had much more success with CL when I lived in MI. I have had little success since moving to FL.

We just sold two couches, an entertainment center, and a bed through Craigslist (we had no desire to move them). This was the first time we used it and it went pretty easy. We had some people flake out on us, but nothing that was too negative. DH used a new email account just for the listings and Craigslist just forwarded everything to us.

I wanted to add that my coworker told me Friday that she and her neighbors were having their annual garage sale and she spent $30 on an ad on the local paper. I told her about Craigslist and we typed up an ad in minutes.

Saturday the crowd at her place was phenomenal! She told me Monday that they made over $5,000! She said the paper NEVER got them a crowd like that!

And it didn't cost a dime!
:thumbsup2
