craigslist question

I sold a rocking horse on craigslist Dec. 18 for $50. The horse makes horsey sounds while the child is rocking. I put in fresh batteries and before I listed it and the horse was making sounds as normal. The people bought this for their 2yo for Christmas. The day the husband picked it up, I got an email from the wife saying the horse is great. Now 11 days later, they call and say the sound isn't working and want their money back. This horse was in like new condition when they bought it. What should I do?

It was working when they picked it up so you listed and sold in good faith. I wouldn't give them their money back. It's really buyer beware when you buy used items.

If it was working when you sold it and they've had it for 11 days I would say its their problem and wouldn't give a refund. Anything I sell on craigslist is as is as found with no refunds.

They've had it for 11 days. I don't think you owe them anything. It would be different if they emailed you the next morning.

I don't want the horse back and I don't want to give them any money back. The horse was in like new condition 11 days ago. I have no idea what the condition is now or what happened to the sound after they bought it.

My guess is that the 2 year old didn't like it, or they had buyers' remorse. I would not take it back or refund.
