My wife is really concerned that the selection of "good beer" (she mainly goes for IPAs) might be limited. Can anyone tell me what IPAs you can get on the Dream and if you can get them most places or is it only at specific bars? This is our first Disney Cruise and we are really looking forward to it. We set sail on 12/28. Thank in advance for your replys!!!

You can also bring on an allowance of your own beverages yourself. I believe it is 1 6-pack per eligible adult at each port. Obviously a bit more difficult if flying, but I've flown with beer plenty of times.

I was on the Dream a few months ago and the beer selection was ok, though not great. They were out of a bunch of beers which didn't help. I'm pretty sure they had at least one IPA, but can't remember for sure since I don't prefer IPAs. The biggest issue is what is left in stock and also where you are located. The pub has the best selection, everywhere else is passable to mediocre. I've noticed they do have a better selection on the pool deck. Servers will usually go to any bar if you request, just tip them for their effort. The vast majority sold, of course, is Bud Light and similar. If you aren't super picky, the pub has a good selection that should make everyone happy. If you prefer a very specific style/brand, think about bringing your own.

The beer selection on the Disney ships varies between bad, really bad and junk. Craft and DCL are pretty much exclusive terms. The closest they usually get is Florida Beer Company beers. For a while they had Cigar City. Other than that? You're going to get AB-InBev, etc.

The Fantasy had Loose Cannon Heavy Seas on draft this past August. They have bottles of several other IPA's, but I basically stuck with the Loose Cannon.

Off topic i know but you mentioned IPAs :) we did an Alaskan cruise a couple years ago and did a tour of the Alaskan brewery. They make some great beer. My favourate was the Hopthermia double IPA. 8.5%APV and an IBU of 70. My wife says it was like drinking treebark but i love it. We cant get it in Canada so a few months after the cruise made a road trip to Idaho just for beer haha.

Anyway, we were on the fantasy in sept. I bought the beer mug but never made it to the pubs. I did find that pool bars did have different beers. I found one that had Kona beer. Again, cant get it at home but reminds me of Aulani :):)

I know they have beers on the Magic and Wonder that are 9% APV. I think beer is pretty subjective, but honestly I find the beer selection better then the food selection.
