Just wondering what the southern fried chicken is like at the Cracker Barrel? We would like to have some while in Orlando but don't know what restaurant serves good chicken. Any ideas?

The Trails End Buffet at Disney's Fort Wilderness has excellent fried chicken, and it's all you can eat! :goodvibes

The fried chicken at Cracker Barrel is usually chicken strips. They rarely have pieces of fried chicken. I prefer other choices; their chicken fried steak is pretty good and the price is right.

Their Chicken Fried Chicken is not strips - it is fried chicken breast. I get this all the time; unless I am in the mood for breakfast.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Cracker Barrel is hands down the best place for
southern fried chicken. My family loves the
down home ambiance of the restaurant.
It does not serve wine or spirits.
Inexpensive meal for what you get.

They only offer the Southern fried chicken meal on Sundays. On any other day you can order chicken fried chicken, which is a flatten fried breast, or fried chicken strips. The Southern fried chicken is very good!

I make it a point to go on Sunday for the fried chicken whenever I can. It's easily enough for leftovers. It's probably my favorite thing there.

I like Cracker Barrel however I've never had their fried chicken. I have enjoyed Bob Evans fried chicken dinner and there is one just after the Disney Entrance on 192 - before Westgate heading west. One of the Cracker Barrels is further down on the opposite side of 192 and I know there is another CB if you head east. I think there is another Bob Evans as well but I can't recall exactly where it is on the east side.

We have had the fried chicken that is only available on Sundays and it is excellent! So yummy...wish I had some now!:goodvibes

Why not get Grampa's Country Fried Breakfast then? :thumbsup2 My absolute favorite breakfast at Cracker Barrel. I use the bowl of gravy that comes with the biscuits and gravy as extra gravy on the chicken fried chicken. Mmmm, I can almost taste it. It's been too long since I've been there!

Sounds like a great idea.

The fried chicken is amazing! Used to only get the Chicken Fried Chicken until we happened to go on a Sunday and DD12 got that instead with the Hash Brown Casserole. AWESOME! For breakfast my favorite are the Pecan Pancakes...mmmmm!

I have an hour+ drive one way to the nearest Cracker Barrel!:sad2: (on Rt. 9 in Fishkill off Exit 13 going West on I-84).

My son always orders Grampa's Country Fried Breakfast. :thumbsup2 Since they serve breakfast all day he orders it for dinner too! This way he gets to have the chicken any time of day. I love the chicken fried chicken too and always get extra gravy. yummm

I LOVE the turnip greens with malt vinegar...yum. MUST have them everytime. I also LOVE their fried cod on Friday Fish Fry Day. I can't believe they haven't added this fish to the regular menu in all this time :confused3. They told me they make it up fresh themselves, so I guess it takes a lot of time out of a day. Still.
