Crack the Fat-Loss Code anyone?

Just wanted to let you know that I'm enjoying reading about your code-commitment. It's interesting to see what other plans are out there. Thanks for keeping it updated! :goodvibes

Thanks for reading.

I did weigh myself today and gained back a pound. To be fair, we haven't really followed the diet this week. I only lost 1 pound on this program.

DH and I plan on starting it over again when we get back from vacation with a number of changes.
1. We just can't eat every 3 hours. It became a chore. It has been much better cutting out that 5th meal.
2. We need to get our walk in every day. We drastically cut down on the amount of walking we did around the time we started the program. That didn't help at all. Now that winter is coming, I know it will have to be on the treadmill.
3. I need to come up with different food choices. Since DH doesn't like fish or shrimp and steak isn't in the budget, we have been eating a lot of chicken and burgers. We tried her turkey burger recipe and it was awful. I think I can find a better one. I do like the breakfast recipes though. I just hate cooking first thing when I get up.

I am back from vacation and ready to start the diet over.
DH and I are going to re-start the 1st week on Monday. Right now, I only have plans to do week 1, but I will see how it goes.
The modifications of different foods and fewer meals has been made into my menu plans. Hopefully, it will be nice enough to walk outside next week, otherwise it is treadmill time.

Today is day 4 of the carb deplete week. I believe I am in fat burn mode now. My head was feeling a little goofy last night and then during the night I felt like someone gave me 20 cups of coffee. I felt jittery and anxious and couldn't lie still.

I gained all my weight back on vacation so now it has to come off again. It just isn't fair that it takes months to lose weight and only a couple weeks to gain it.

We are going to do this week and then 3 days of the next cycle so we can weigh ourselves. I hope I have better results than last time.

So far less food is working out better and since it has been nice out, we have gottenour walks in.

Today was the last day of the carb deplete week! :cool1:

We are going to take it 1 week at a time.

I really hope I lost weight during this time. I will find out come Wednesday.

Does any one want me to continue writing about my journey?

OK. I wasn't sure anyone was interested anymore.

Weigh-in is tomorrow, but I don't know how accurate it will be since I am having some female issues at this time.

At least this time, I have figured out which recipes in her book we like and which ones we don't. I am making a couple of turkey cutlet recipes this week from other sources. I hope they are good. I am trying to make the food more palatable. She uses a lot of turkey and chicken and shrimp. I haven't made any of the shrimp since DH won't eat it and it is expensive. This diet is expensive enough with all the meat, let alone extra expensive meat and seafood.

I really want to succeed on this diet with my food modifications.

DH persuaded me not to weigh myself today due to the female issues. It would have really been off. Maybe this weekend.

Denine- I agree, please keep writing! You have quite a number of us lurkers who are very interested in seeing how this works for you!

Yes please keep us posted on your progress!

I was reading the book again last night and discovered that I did a couple things wrong the first time we tried it.
When I was doing the weeks menu, I was going by the sample menu plans. I didn't realize I needed to do some of them more than once. We were not supposed to have a carb-up day yesterday (but that pasta and chips and salsa were so good!) We are only supposed to have 1 carb-up day this week, so I changed Sautrday's carb-up day to a base-line day, no big deal. Next week we repeat the same menu plan only with 2 carb- up days.
I am still learning along the way.

This will be my last post on this diet. DH and I are switching back to WW.

Even with the modifications and increased walking from the first go round, I lost 0 pounds and DH lost 2 pounds.

1. I still think the premise is interesting, it just didn't work for us. I don't know why.

2. It is expensive. That is another reason we are going back to WW. I just can't afford buying all the meat it requires.

3. I am looking foward to the freedom of WW. I get more food choices and I can eat them when I want to.

4. The author says her diet isn't restricitve, but it is. You can only have carbs certain times of the day, sometimes only in the morning and only after 3 PM 1-2 days a week. You still have to weigh and measure everything and planning takes time.

If someone else decides to try this diet, I would be interested in knowing the reults.

Thanks for reading.

Thanks so much for sharing your experiences! It really did sound like it was way more trouble than it was worth. I have found that ww does offer more flexibility, and that's key in my life! Good luck to you and your husband! :goodvibes

I am a firm believer of lose the wieght the way you KNOW you can live the rest of your life. If you can not eat the way that any diet, no mater how good the resuls, for the rest of your life then it is not going to have long term results.

Thanks everyone. WW worked for us in the past. I hope it will work again.

At least I can get my grocery budget under control!
