Crabby waitstaff at Hoop De Doo

We went to Hoop De Doo on March 12 for my 40th birthday. When the waitstaff came out on the porch before the meal I noticed they were all older (which isnt a problem but just very different from our last time) and none looked happy to be there. One in particular looked really irritated. I told my Mom that I sure hoped that "Surly Shirley" wouldnt be our waitress. Well you KNOW who we ended up with. She was grumpy the entire meal. And of course the tip is included so there was no incentive to be nice. I would have preferred to tip at the end. Her name was actually Betty but we referred to her as Surly Shirley the rest of our trip.

The show was great and so was the food. And the performers gave me a lot of birthday attention. So we didnt let her ruin our meal.

I'm sorry your waitress was grumpy! We had an awesome time at the Hoop this past January. I'm glad you enjoyed it otherwise!

Sorry to hear the wait staff appeared unhappy and that your waitress was grumpy. It makes me wonder if they received unpleasant news right before their shift started

To me a a old server not at a Disney park. You never know when that person in having a bad day. We were at Ohana in 06 and the sever we had was so rude. I mean to the point where I was gonna say something. Then I heard her saying that they kept her mom an extra day in the hospital and she couldn't go cause she couldn't take anymore time from work to fly down there.

I know these are CM members, but they are also people to. They can't be happy and cheerful all the time.

This isn't a flame at all. Just something to think about.

Yes, the server might be having a bad day but that doesn't give them the right to take it out on the people they are serving. You don't have to act all happy but they should still be pleasant to the people they are serving because it isn't their fault that server is having a bad day.
I am so sorry to hear about the crabby wait staff at Hoop Dee Doo. We have been there twice and the staff has always been very friendly. Maybe next time you go they will be happier. I love the show though, it is so funny.

I realize that anyone can have a bad day. But our waitress looked like she had lots of bad days. She just had a general unhappiness about her. The other servers all looked less than happy too. I dont think it's asking too much that you have a server who is at least pleasant. And one who doesnt just slam everything down on the table. Especially when the meal costs $50 per person AND when it's your 40th birthday.

We'll go back for sure though.
