Crab Entrees

other than the crab legs at cape may cafe, and some crab cake appetizers, I'm not seeing a lot of options for crab entrees out there, particularly at signature restaurants. Does anyone know of any great crab meals I'm missing? I believe Fultons crab house is closed for our trip though I haven't seen a definite date on that

You may find 2-3 items on the menu at Boathouse that have crab in them. One being a crab cake, another is their Stone Crab claw. I wasn't very happy with our meal at the Boathouse, so I wouldn't recommend it personally. Kona Cafe also has a crab cake, and one or two sushi rolls that have crab as an ingredient.
I can't seem to think of or find any real meals featuring crab as the main ingredient. Crab cakes seem to be the most common crab-centric dish available and are available at several places. Shula's has crab cake(s) on their menu, and a shellfish trio that features some lump crab.

Narcoossees has king crab legs as an accompaniment. CA Grill has some crab based sushi.

Believe it or not, the crab cake at 50s Prime Time is delicious. It is not a Maryland crab cake but the flavor is (or was) delicious.

Fultons has great crab -- king, snow, and even stone crab in season. So if it is back open when your trip comes up, give them a try.

I just stay away from seafood at WDW. I live on the Gulf Coast, and none I've had at WDW measures up to what I can get here at home.

It was A LONG time ago to know about today but one of the best crabcakes I ever had was at Rainforest Cafe. If they are still on the menu worth a try!

BEWARE any crab cake at WDW!!

If you are at all familiar with a true Md. crab cake, what's available anywhere at WDW will be a major disappointment.
The best crab I ever had was when we were in B-more. I forget the name of the place but it was near O's Park. But like with anything, it's not gonna be the best you've had if you've had the best at home. Like finding great pizza outside of NYC.

As a Marylander my thoughts exactly!! Love me some good crab cakes or crab dip. But you're not gonna find it at WDW!! :rotfl: For me, I prefer crab over lobster.

True enough!

I suppose those NOT familiar with the real thing will find the crab cakes at WDW acceptable--even good.

But not me!!
