We (think) we have narrowed down our accomodations for next Oct to the CR wings. Would like to know which wing is better & what view/room/section to ask for. Also how is the pool? Is there anything to do at the resort with young kids (no parasailing for us!)

We have 3 kids (10,7,& 5 at the time of travel) & will being doing MNSSHP & love the idea of walking back to the resort on a late night at the MK.

I stayed at the Contemporary for the first time in September with my sister and two nieces (2 & 4). We stayed in the tower, I decided to upgrade us once we got there. The north wing is closest to MK and the Food & Fun Center. The pool is ok, nothing really great. It's very big, and they have a monsterly big slide that my nieces insisted on riding down. LOL The 4 year old did it once and had enough, the 2 year old did it twice before giving up on it. LOL

We took a ride on the boat to WL/FW one day to pass some time. They have stores, and you can sit around the Concourse and watch the monorails travel through. You can also go to the arcade in the Food & Fun Center, we had a blast taking pictures of all of us in there. The kids won lots of cheap toys that they loved.

If I were going to stay in a wing room I'd definitely ask for a 1st floor room so I could go sit outside on the patio, although you have to watch out for all the bird poop. The 2nd floor rooms don't have a balcony that you can sit out on.

I'm going back at the end of next month with my 4 year old niece, we'll be staying at the CR again in a tower room with the MK view. I joked the whole time we were there in September saying it was the $365 view and worth every penny (that was the cost to upgrade to the tower room). I truly loved being able to sit out on the balcony every night and watch the fireworks.

Have a great trip :)

We've stayed both in a garden wing and in tower rooms -- we vote for the tower, hands down. I know that they are working to refurbish the wings, but we found the wing room incredibly noisy (to the point where we absolutely could not sleep at night). We requested MK view, and the "non-Chef Mickey's side" in the tower (twice), and it was utterly delightful.

You may also hear from another Dis-member that her family was robbed while staying in a first floor, garden wing room at CR -- WHILE they were in the room, sleeping (they hadn't realized that the sliding glass patio door was not securely locked).

Our DS (now 7) loves the CR -- the pools are great, there's a video arcade in the first floor lobby, the monorail through the 4th floor lobby is endlessly fascinating, AND (drum roll, please) you can easily WALK to and from MK.

We stayed in a North Garden Wing room (1st floor) last Christmas and it was great. We were able to walk back and forth to the MK when we wanted. We had a water view and were located near the Tennis Courts. I am not a real fan of the CR (don't care for the theme, I guess), but I liked the room and room location, and that was before the remodel. The rooms are really big, I think the biggest on property. Not too far from the food court area (again, not a favorite of mine) or the arcade, which also means you are close to the monorail station. Never stayed in the tower rooms.
