we're going to be staying at the CR starting sept 30th-oct 6th....YEAH!!

anyway, my general question for anyone who knows, what are the travel times like this time of year for going from the resort to each of the parks?

thanks for anyone who knows! thanks!!!

If you decide to walk to the Magic Kingdom it's about 10 minutes, however if you take the Monorail it would be about 20 minutes. Going to Epcot I would guess 25-30 minutes because you need to change Monorails at the TTC and if the Epcot one is not there, it will take you more time. Finally when going to MGM and AK, I would guess it takes about 30 minutes. However you also have to factor waiting how the buses also stop at some of the other Magic Kingdom Resorts and waiting for them to arrive.

so, the buses from the resort take you to the monorail and then the monorail takes you inside all of the parks?
i havent been there in 21 years, and not as an adult : >

When going to the Magic Kingdom you have the choice of either using the walkway, or taking the Monorail. When going to Epcot 1st you take the Monorail to the TTC and from there you switch to the Epcot Monorail. When going to MGM and AK the only way to get there is by bus, unless you have a car and wanted to drive.

thank you!

one other question...in the morning, if we wanted to watch the ceremonies that open both the MK and AK, what time should we get on the buses to make sure we're there on time??

and again, thanks!!!

You're welcome and to answer you're other question If you are going to the Magic Kingdom during AM EMH it would open at 8:00 AM, so you could use the walkway at 7:15 AM and be there before 8:00 AM. Remember that when going to the Magic Kingdom you don't take a bus, since it's located right by the Contemporary.

As for the Animal Kingdom the same rule applies if it's AM EMH, however I would give yourselves about 30-45 minutes if you wanted to be there for the park opening.

If you go to the parks when it's not AM EMH, then they would open at 9:00 AM.

We just got back from the CR this past weekend. We utilized the emh at MK two times- leaving the garden wing with two small children at 7:45 got us to the MK in perfect time for rope drop by walking the path. OTherwise it would have taken about 30 minutes or so via monorail (by the time we got to the monorail, took the elevator etc) It took us about 25 minutes getting back and forth from EPCOT. We did not go to the AK or MGM so I can't tell you how the busses were running.

what time did the MK open for rope drop with the EMH?

i was told by someone who just came back, here at work, who stayed at CR that she never used the monorail, just the buses. so im totally confused now lol.

LOL...now i know why im being so confused...and i apologize to everyone. im still learning my Disney Abreviations....i meant Caribbean Beach Resort, not Contemporary. My bad. So sorry!!! i guess i should rename this thread!!

Hi, I will try and give you more accurate times since I am here this very moment. Unless things change this is what you're looking at:

MK (walking about 10 minutes) Monorail, 20-25 minutes (there is only one for the resorts so it depends on how they're running.

Epcot - About 30 minutes using Monorail

MGM - Very quicking, buses are running about every 10 minutes, so maybe anywhere from 15-20 minutes

AK/Blizzard Beach - OMG, are you kidding me??? It tooks us over 1 1/2 hours (1 hour 34 minutes to be exact by bus). They make a few stops at different resorts and the bus is coming about every 30-40 minutes (we waited 40 minutes for our bus to arrive).

DTD & Typhoon Lagoon - About the same as above for wait time (if not a little more) but the ride is quicker, maybe 20 minutes to get to TL and 15 to DTD.

The buses are absolutely HORRIBLE here at the Contemporary and it's wearing us a bit thin, the resorts are at capacity (according to Conceirge) yet they are running the buses as if there is no one here. An old couple today after waiting for about 30 minutes left, the woman was in a wheel chair, it was sad. I went in to talk to the MGR of the resort and he said that DTD/TL should be about 30 minutes and everything else 20, I told him that was not the case and he apologized and called for a bus which showed up in about 5 or 10 minutes.

Now, I don't know if they are going to change things for October, but as of now, this is how it's rolling (ahhhh...get it :lmao: ) We've decided to go to TTC and get our buses there and try our luck, if it's any better I'll let you know!

It's ok we all make mistakes once in a while, so don't worry about it. I also agree that you should edit the title of this thread.
