Alright, my mom's boss wants me to plan his family's Disney trip for spring break next March. I haven't stayed at CR in a LONG time and that's what they want. It's him, his wife, and their 2 kids (16yo DS and 12 yo DD). They're going March 10-17 and want the entire trip under $5k (not happening unless they change their dates or hotel, I know), but I had a few questions about the CR. The guy says since he has a wife and 2 teens going he wants 2 bedrooms and 2 baths and they want to stay in the "main" building at the CR. I said, and correct me if I'm wrong, the only 2-bedroom suites are in BLT and they'd need to rent DVC points. If they want to do it in the main tower, they would need 2 rooms, correct?

CR does have 2 bdrm suites on the 14th floor. They are very expensive. They may have 2 br's in the wing. I don't remember for sure. This type of vacation is not going to happen for 5k unless they switch to a value or mod resort. They could then book 2 rooms.

You'd probably be better off pointing towards a Disney specialized travel agency. ;)(Like Dreams Unlimited, the brd's owners.)

I agree with the pp. I would not plan this vacation. It sounds like he needs a travel professional. Maybe they haven't taken a WDW vacation in a while and don't realize the amount prices have increase? Let a professional break it to him easily.;)

Travel agent may be a good option. I already sent my mom and email with a price breakdown of what he wants (without including airfare, renting a car for their day at universal, etc). It's over $10k. I told her he can have the trip at that time, that resort, or at that price, but not all three.

Bay Lake Tower which is conntected to the Contemporary via their sky bridge has 2 Bedroom Villas which are a lot less expensive then the 2 Bedroom Suite located in the Contemporary on their Tower Club Level 14th floor.

They may want to rent points for a 2br villa - that would be the least expensive option to get them the location they want. I don't think they would ever be able to book a 2br suite at CR for under 5K, let alone do the whole trip for under 5k.

To get the best value, I'd be suggesting they book a cabin at FW. The teens could hang out in the bedroom, the parents in the living room, two TV's, lots of resort activities, and a nice boat ride to MK. There's only one bathroom, but there is a comfort station near the 2100 loop and some facilities at the cabin pool area as well.

The second suggestion would be a family suite at All Star Music. Two bathrooms, a separate bedroom for the parents, and the kitchenette for snacks for the ever hungry teens.

With only four people, they would fit nicely in a one bedroom villa if the teens don't mind sleeping on pull outs. At BLT and AKV, the one bedroom villas have two bathrooms and a sleeper chair in addition to the sofabed, so the teens wouldn't have to share. This would be my first choice, although unless they rent points the price might be a little higher than they'd like.
