We just got back from 10 days at WDW and rode past this spot on the monorail many times. Between Saturday 3/10 and Saturday 3/17 there was so much more taken down.

My friend returned yesterday from a stay at the Poly. She said by time they left it was completely gone and the land all graded flat. Unfortunately, they took no pics of it.

Just got back today. The final piece was taken down Thursday. I went to the Magic Kingdom that morning and saw the crane holding it up. After my ADR's that night it was gone. I have pictures I will have to get off my camera. Some from ground level, and better ones from the 4th floor overlook.

Hey Jason: Thanks for pics! I'll be interesting to see how quickly the construction of the DVC Tower begins. I'm guessing it'll be failry noisey at the Contemporary once they start driving in the pilings for the new tower.

Just subscribing to the thread and hoping DVC @ Contemporary becomes a reality. I have a feeling there won't be an official annoucement until they're close to selling out Saratoga Springs and/or Animal Kingdom Villas.

I can see why they aren't making any formal announcements on this development. Looks like it's going to be awhile before anything even looks like a resort on the site. We were there 3 times in the last 30 days, and it looks like NOTHING is going on.

My guess is that they are just preparing the land for future development. It looks like they are adding storm/sewer drainage, and they will leave it at that for awhile.

I am sure we will not get any official word until the AKV's are close to sold out. right now they are not even close to being done. I'm not even sure if they have started on the main Villa complex--they've just recently converted the upper floors of the existing lodge.

Think about how long SS had been up and running before they announced the AK villas.

We'll most likely get the same time line here.
