CR, Mahi Mahi (silly question)

I will be going to CR and I have always wanted to try Mahi Mahi, but never have. I heard it is very similar to Tuna, is that true? I do not like the taste or texture of Tuna Steaks, so I just wanted to double check with any of you who have had it. Thanks!

I don't think mahi mahi is much like tuna. It is a mild white flaky fish. I don't like tuna, but I love mahi mahi. I had some at Flying Fish in June that was just wonderful!

Mahi Mahi is very mild, not at all like Tuna. You may have had it before, a lot of places call it dolphin or dolphin fish. It's not related in any way to the ocean mammals also called dolphin.

Mahi, Mahi is awesome... its not that "fishy" tasting to me. I like it blackened or herb crusted. Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I had Mahi-Mahi at CR for the first time last week. I thought it tasted like Haddock, kind of. I'm not a fan of Tuna steaks, I never thought of that comparison. Kind of like Haddock or Cod, maybe?

Yeah, I would say it's like haddock or tilapia. It's essentially your average mild white fish- it doesn't have a fishy taste to it (so no, I wouldn't compare it to tuna). And it did used to be referred to as dolphin fish many years ago if you remember that. I haven't seen it on the menu as "dolphin fish" in at least 10 years though.

I hate fishy stuff but LOVE mahi mahi. This past trip I had it at both Kona Cafe and Coral Reef- great meals!

I don't care for tuna but I love mahi-mahi. I think it's a tiny bit firmer than haddock or cod, but very mild. It is delicious at Coral Reef!
