Well what is more gas on the fire :firefight , while listening to the latest podcast last night on the WDW Radio show Lou announced for fact that the CR will be a DVC resort (at some level) and an announcement is expected at the begining of the year.

I am surprised I havent seen any posts rergarding this yet:confused3

Am I the only one who has heard this?

With all the talk about CR on the boards I thought this would have been posted (or has it)

I think we are all just tired of hearing "CRV is a FACT!!!" only to read further and find out that another boat captain, Contemporary CM, bus driver, etc. "said so...and I know this person wouldn't pass on incorrect information..."

I agree that Lou is certainly a good source....but it just isn't official. Heck even the DIS's Pete & Co. (from the DIS Unplugged...the Podcast that goes with these boards) said "It's gonna be a DVC...it's a sure thing..." several weeks ago.

Most of us are just jaded....we'll believe it when we hear it from DVC.

 A new ailment...... "CRV Fatigue". Is it treatable?

In all honesty, this is really the case. It's not official till Disney says it is and even then it is subject to change right up until the doors actually open.

Don't get me wrong... I would love to stay there as a DVC member. But I will enjoy what I have access to in the meantime. :)

I have a gut feeling that this announcement won't happen until SSR is sold out. With the current incentive of a $10 discount AND developer points, this resort will be sold out sooner that the anticipated 1st quarter of next year. After that, they will only have AKV.

I have the same feeling. Even then, I wonder if the announcement of CR would affect sales then at AK??? :confused3:

With rumors DVC resorts make in the neighborhood of 1 million profit each, monthly, I think any construction going on at any resorts should be rumored to be DVC. There is just too much smoke about CRV not to be accompanied by some fire. It's just a matter of time before CRV will be announced.

well we have radio shows, guide books, mouseplanet, CR CM's, MS, Sales Guides all reporting this is going to happen

either its rumor and they are all getting their info from each other and fueling each other on, or theres definately more than just smoke here.

IMHO, it will impact sales at AKV, but I don't know to what degree. :confused3 I think there's a waiting market for any monorail DVC resort, so those folks will line up to buy, regardless of price. For others, price could be an issue (plus whatever incentives are offered, if any, at both resorts). And then there are those, like DH and me, who would be content to occasionally try our luck at the 7-month mark, but not necessarily interested at owning there. :goodvibes (Now if it were the Poly DVC...............:rolleyes1 )

Also IMHO, I do believe it will sell out faster than any DVC resort to date. :)

Everyone seems to have an opinion on this, and I believe it is coming. Our DVC kiosk guide laughingly asked me if I liked to bungee jump, because that is what the high rise cranes are for:lmao:

My DVC guide did NOT disspell the fact (nor did he endorse it of course). However, my husband is in construction and he told me the different phases and equipment needed for construction. The cranes and foundations they already have in place are for a building at least 10 stories tall. Seems like they would announce a "New Wing" at the Contemporary long ago if that were the case.

The simple fact that no one knows or will confirm what is going on at the Contemporary is fact enough for me. It is coming, and it will be mine:lmao:

While a monorail DVC is desperately wanted by some, I do know of many people who are incredibly turned off by the theme and decor of the Contemporary (myself and family included). Not to mention that if you don't have young children, while it's nice to be in walking distance of MK, the other parks are a bit of a hike. Magic Kingdom is off in left field.

I don't doubt that this resort will appeal to MANY, but like any resort, it can really turn some others off.

AMEN! (Anyone stayed at "Eagle Pines" yet?)

Personally I consider this one a VERY reliable rumor. Lou is pretty good about fact checking etc unlike the "Jim Hill I made up something to write about" site for example.

To me this has NO appeal, but I think it will happen.

it doesn't have to appeal to a bunch of folks - just enough to sell the 300 to 350 units that will be available.

I think it will also sell out faster than the BCV - the fastest one to date.

definitely going to be buying!!! waited 15 years for this thing.

if they build a Polyn DVC it would probably be a wait of another 15 years.
if ever.

they would have kept their promise with the CR - we will have a monrail DVC resort. So I am not really expecting another one.

Deep down, I do think at least a part of the new structure at CR will be DVC, but if the whole is or if it will be in the first stages, I have my doubts. The reason is that construction is just now starting on AKV Kidani Village. If they tried to announce another DVC resort before AKV Kidani is open, it could have a negetive effect on sales there. I really think CRV was in the planning BEFORE AKV, but rehabing parts of AKL into AKV was an easier way to have inventory available when SSR sells out. It does seem odd to me that construction at CR seems to be far ahead of Kidani though.

I think the experts were saying late 2009 or early 2010 at CR. this is only to finish the building - not the interior.

when they finished Jambo - would expect Kidani to go into high gear and finish early 2009 (if not sooner)

this is how I see it
AK - 2008, 2009, 2010
DL 2009 or 2010
CR - 2010
HI - 2011

both CR and DL will sell out quickly - which is why they need OKW (updated to 2057) to sell too. would expect AKV to sell out before sales start on CR.

they are ahead of their target sales with AKV.

Do you have this on an EXCEL spreadsheet :lmao:

I see no reason for at least part of this to be DVC as they are making $$$$ and that after all that is what drives DVC to build more.

you are probably right on that part where AKV was announced first because they only needed to do rehab to get it ready for sale

didnt we do a poll here that showed just as much interest in AKV as in CRV?

If that poll translates fairly accurately to the general public then maybe a CRV announcement would not hurt AKV sales much after all

but I think it would abolsutely kill SSR sales, between AKV on sale and a CRV announcement (plus GC and HI in the wings) not many would be lining up to finish off SSR sales

maybe they are waiting until SSr is done
