CR Construction Photos from 12/08/07

Here are a few CR construction pics taken early this week. They are now starting the 4th floor. I'll try to get some more from the 15th floor observation deck tomorrow evening. These are from Bay Lake and the 4th floor deck.

I don't know what's more exciting . . . the pictures themselves or the beautiful clouds in the sky signaling the fronts that have come in to cool the place down from the heat that they had this summer and fall.

I'm getting ready to go down in a few weeks and don't want to see another years of "unseasonably warm" for New Year's week!

Looking forward to your pictures from the observation deck tomorrow.

We were at VWL this week and passed by there several times. DH's comment was "They are already starting the 4th floor of a building that doesn't even exist" Interesting to see when they finally announce something.

We had dinner at CG on 11/25 but it was dark so hard to see the detail. Thanks for posting.

Notice the difference in the height of the first floor areas in your second picture. The section on the right appears to have a standard height while the first floor looks much higher in most of the building...or is that an illusion.

On a recent trip I was talking to a guy in a DVC booth and we were laughing about the new building. He said that some of the them have a bet about how many stories the building will be before WDW announces its existence. Gentlemen's bet, I'm sure.

We were there the week after Thanksgiving and went out to the deck on the 4th floor and it definately looks C shaped.

It is curious though.

The area on the right is farther away than the area on the left. The building is "C" shaped and the open area is to the right. Those first photos were taken from the lake level and below the construction, so the section at the right of the photo should appear shorter. That is also the section where they 4th floor has started. The section on the left is just finishing the 3rd floor. The first floor appears to be uniform all the way around the "C".

I'll post some more photos - taken this afternoon - tomorrow evening after we return home. They were taken from the 15th floor observation deck and show the "C" shape clearly.

Yes, the first level appears to be taller than the floors above. I have no idea what will occupy that first level. I'd think it might have a lobby/check-in area with some shops. There is also another section being built in the interior part of the "C". I'll post some more photos this evening taken from the 15th floor of the CR which shows some more detail. A lot of progress was made this week between the first photos I took above and the ones taken last night.

We went out on the 4th floor of the CR to look at this yesterday after we were told "unofficially" that it is a DVC resort and that we should start scooping up the DVC logo merchandise because it's going to change and the DVC name is changing with it.

No wonder DVC merchandise was in very short supply this last week.

Yes merchandise was in short supply. We talked to the DVC merchandise stocker type person at OKW the week after Thanksgiving and she did say they were changing the logo. But I don't think they would change the DVC name, I could be wrong though.
