CR Construction Photos from 12/08/07

Extremely nice Doc. Made my night.:thumbsup2

Great pics Doc! Thanks. I wonder how that construction compares to Kidani. Judging by your photos, they are moving right along with this new CR building. Now we just wait for an announcement.

Great pics, Doc! Can't wait to get there in a few weeks (1/4) and see it myself!
We'll be at VWL so I'll be sure to get over to CR and get some more pics. Does anyone know if there have been any changes to the law in Florida specifically saying how far a project has to be before a timeshare is actually announced? I know there is something about a certain percent completed before actual sales begin taking place, but, is there anything specific about announcements.......probably not since previous DVC resorts were announced before construction began.

I'm wondering at the building rate. Since October they've completed 3 stories and look on schedule to finish the 4th by month's end. So 2-3 months for 4 stories? If this is the proposed 16 story CRV, then they'll need another 6-9 months to knock off the other 12 floors.

Typically, once the foundation and (in this instance) the caissons are all poured and installed, the steel and concrete work goes up rather quickly.

Thank you very much for the pictures, Doc! I can't tell you how excited we are over here, waiting for the official DVC announcement. :yay:

I hope you are enjoying your vacation! :santa:

Take care,
Michelle

Really nice pictures Doc. Thank you.

Interestingly it (and the area around it) looks smaller than the original renderings found on the web.

Wonder how many units there will be

regards

Interestingly it (and the area around it) looks smaller than the original renderings found on the web.

It looks smaller but in real life seems bigger. I had the same thoughts last october when I read here about the construction and then went by it on the monorail the next week. It seems about the same size as High Point South in Ocean City, MD. http://12.22.248.98/cgi-bin/db2www/website/oceanfront/63rdto117th/highpointsouth.mac/default

I believe that has around 14 stories and 8-10 one and two bedroom units per floor So somewhere around 100-150 rooms maybe?

SSR has around 36 2-3 bedroom units per building (including lockoffs). There are 13 2-bed equivalents per floor. The CR construction seemed roughly the same size.

Anyway you cut it, the resort would be small. Owning points there is probably a must for getting rooms.

if it goes by the architect design we saw over a year ago - then it will be 16 floors and 350 units (estimate)

Doc, great pictures!!! thanks so much!

Awesome pictures; thanks for sharing!

The area on the right is farther away than the area on the left. The building is "C" shaped and the open area is to the right. Those first photos were taken from the lake level and below the construction, so the section at the right of the photo should appear shorter. That is also the section where they 4th floor has started. The section on the left is just finishing the 3rd floor. The first floor appears to be uniform all the way around the "C".

I'll post some more photos - taken this afternoon - tomorrow evening after we return home. They were taken from the 15th floor observation deck and show the "C" shape clearly.

Thanks. It wasn't the distance perspective that fooled me. I think it was either the construction equipment or the lake barrier that made it appear to me that all floors on the right side were the same height.

Thanks for all the pictures and thanks to Cobbler too.:thumbsup2

My son just called from the CG and said that the bartender (can't get more official than that!) told him it was definitely DVC and will be "state of the art." Now they are trying to decide whether to have another child or buy into the CR.;)

Two more days and I'll see it for myself!!!:Pinkbounc :ccat:

I think he and the bartender should have the child first and buy DVC later.;););)

Thanks for the pics and udpates!

Brogan--things will slow down once it is shelled up.

Originally, I was going to bypass CRV. But everytime I see one of those MK views my mind is slowly being changed. If they have MK view booking catagory, I think I might be in. If they add a club level, like AKV, I can see another 175 point add-on being a done deal!

Welcome to ... the Monorail side! I have a bunch of $$ stashed away from my OKW sale earmarked for CRV. We'll do about a 100 point add on and the bank/borrow AKV and CRV to vacation at each one every other year.
