So far the earliest pre park opening ADR I can get for CP is 8:25. If we get there really early is it possible that they will seat us early or do they wait until your actual ADR time? I don't mind going into RD hours by 30 mins or so but I really hate to miss the entire first hour the park is open.

For those early reservations they're not particularly concerned about the precise time of your reservation - they want to get tables filled and get the whole process moving. Same is true at CRT.

So whether your reservation is 8:05, 8:15, 8:25, get there as early as you can and get checked in. You'll have a very good chance of getting seated.

We had no problem getting in early for CP, same with Tusker house for breakfast. CRT made us wait at the podium until our time. Maybe they have streamlined things a bit.
Funny thing about Tusker, the restaurant had no problem seating us early but the lady at the gate really gave us a hard time getting in for our ADR. She even followed us to the restaurant!

I booked Tusker House for dinner for the 4 of us two years ago, I think it was President's week. Was told there was only one dining reservation available (did this over the phone), we get there.....we were the only table occupied in the entire restaurant for the first 1/2 hour we were there, and then only a few other tables were occupied!!!!!!!!!! 5:00 pm reservation. What's up with that????

Haven't made a reservation there since. Just my two cents. I realize you are talking about breakfast. Happy planning and best of luck with your reservations :)

I should probably have added that my last visit to CRT was in 2010, so procedures can always have changed.

Still, the idea of trying to get the tables filled seems likely to still be the case, one way or the other.

We always try and get to our ADR at CP early to get plenty of empty park photos. We check in first and get our buzzer.

Normally we are seated before our time but if its busy then you might have to wait. If you want fast passes for something you could always send a runner out to get them and then you should be ready to ride by the time you are done eating.

Best tip I heard was pay when you sit down to eat that way you just get up and go when you are done and don't have to wait to get your check.

Funny, I was thinking I should have added that mine was in 2009! Could be different each day! It worked out well for us, we shopped and came back and then waited at the podium, I was 45 mins for that one! It took us at least 45 mins to make it up to the dinning room after our time!
CP being a buffet I think it is easier to plug people in empty tables as they come up.

Thank you all for the responses! I will just plan to show up early and hope we get seated. If not we will have plenty of time for Main Street/castle pics.

We just ate at Crystal Palace last week and had an 8:15 ADR. When we arrived everyone was checked in and waited outside then the waiters came out and called your party's last name. We actually were the first up to the buffet, so as long as you have an early ADR they don't go by it once you get there. Hope that helps!

I'm so glad to hear this! My reservation is for 8:20 and I want to get out as close to RD as possible!

Awesome idea on paying when we sit! Ill do this in Sept for our pre park TH!! Woohoo I was worried about getting to RD b/c we wanted to leave around 1 to do DQ and get back to Poly for the CL snacks at 5 ( skipping lunch, getting snacks) then Ohana for dinner at 8
