A visit isn't in the budget. WWYD for her for Christmas? I don't want to cause her homesickness, which up to now isn't a problem! I was thinking of sending her stocking, stuffed of course! I wonder if I should send some decorations? If you had one away at Christmas, WWYD?

And if you are a CPer, what did your parents do?

Maybe a Christmas care package? Full of whatever cookies, etc. you always make for Christmas. The stocking is a good idea. I would also look into getting her tickets to ICE! Gaylord Palms. It is the coolest thing and she can go on a day off with a friend maybe.

I didn't get a whole lots from my parents as I asked for plane tickets to go home in february(I had extended). But my mom did send me a box with some small presents and the candy that normally I would get in my stocking. My brother also sent me his present for me(we draw names and he got me). My roommates and I had a tree, and we put all our presents underneath. We also got each other different things, so we had a pretty neat Christmas! My roommate had gone home at the beginning of December to visit and she came back with these huge stockings full of 12 days of Christmas presents for us to do before. It was so much fun! It definitely helped us be more excited and less homesick.

I think sending her a stocking sounds perfect! Stockings are my favorite part of christmas morning, and decorations would be a great way to make her apartment feel like home. I would jump make sure that any decorations you get comply with her apartment's regulations.

My daughter is currently at Disney as a PI. She was supposed to leaving on Dec 16 but because of a special project in her department she is now there until Dec 30. We already had reservations to visit her for Thanksgiving so Christmas is not an option. I am bringing her decorations and a few presents that I can pack. The stocking idea sounds great as well. Also picked up a Disney Princess Advent calendar for her. Those can be easily mailed.:flower3:

My daughter was a CP over Christmas and is now a CM who is of course working. Early in December I send a box (enough to share) of the traditional cookies/candies/snack mixes that we have here for the holidays. The first year I also sent about four Tinkerbell type items as she wanted to do some decorating.

Closer to Christmas I send a stuffed stocking. I have one I use just for her and I get it back to send each year. I lay it in a robe sized box and stuff it full and then the corners of the box to with both useful and fun items...got some instant snow for this year!

SOOO Funny - on my way out to the grocery store now that is next to a Hallmark store and I thought...I think I will run in there tonight....now for sure I will!

Are the kids allowed to put up small Christmas trees in their apartments? I know there are rules about decorations in general.

thanks,

We had a small Christmas tree in our apartment and it was fine! They just don't like you putting anything on the walls. It was really nice having a tree because it felt a little more home like during christmas

My grandmother sent me a box with stuff for my roommates and I to open every day. She sent candy...cookies... coloring books...photo albums. Lots of stuff :D

Cool! I was wondering if I could send a small tree! I'll send some ornaments from home as well. Maybe find out all the room mate's names and make them ornaments! :cool1:

Small like a tabletop tree, or small like a 4 foot tall tree?

I found this one. $30 for a 3 footer, free shipping.

Ours was probably 4 or 5 foot. One of the roommates got it from Walmart I believe when we were down there. But any size would be fun really!

I'll have to look later for a picture cuz I know I have one. We were proud of it!
