Hi everyone!!!!

I was just wondering from those with past experience: which time of day is it best to see the CP. Is it more ambient at a certain time? For those who have done the lunch package, does the daytime sun/heat affect the show? Is there a difference between 6:45 and 8:15 in terms of lighting/sun? Thank you in advance and hang in there for those who can't wait until Nov-Dec. at WDW!! :goodvibes

We have done both shows and enjoy the 8:15 one better. We also didn't like eating at 3:30 for the 6:45 show..not convenient. Love 8:15 show with dinner at Le Cellier or Tepan (Japan) that's been our favs for the lst 5 years.

The 5:00 show begins while it is still light out and although I have not seen one at that time I think it would loose some effect. We did the 8:15 show last year and loved it. But we did not have sufficient time following the show to make it through the crowds of people to a good viewing location for Illuminations. So we're planning on the 6:45 show this year. We have an ADR for breakfast at 8:30 am at Boma so we'll be well filled until we have an early dinner as part of our CPP. If we're hungry we'll grab a snack after the show before going to the Illuminations viewing area.

Last year you were also given a pass to the special viewing area for Illuminations with your CP package. It was at the area between the 2 stores as you enter WS. We found a nice viewing area on the bridge near France after the CP show and stayed there as its an easier walk out IG. Don't know if you will get the pass this year.

Yes, we had that pass last year. But we had gotten really good seats down close to the stage for CP and so it took a while to get out of the theater after the show. We knew that we did not have time to get all the way around the lagoon to the special viewing area (the boat was no where in sight.) We did go to the bridge near France but there were about 3 or 4 rows of people in front of us. We could see the high fireworks but not the show on the water. Since we were staying at BWI that was a convienent place for us. This year we'll be heading to the bus area after so I really want to take advantage of the special viewing area between the stores. (If it is offered again.)

I see you are staying at AKL this december. We will be at AKLV(dvc) 12/26-12/30/10. Its our first time staying there, but we visit and eat there every trip. I agree with your plan to find a quick way out to the bus area. Not doing CP package this trip(have done it for the past 5 xmas weeks), going to evening emh, having 9:20pm adr at Le Cellier then hitting the attractions for the late night..I don't think we will have too much of a problem leaving..we will drive though. Have fun.
