I'm looking into doing some courses while in the CP that you get credit for. Has anyone every taking any of them? Which ones do you suggest to take? Do you get to pick the times you want to go to those classes? Thanks in advance:goodvibes Spring 2012 hopeful:banana:

They have several times for the classes already set aside and you can pick from those, whether or not you want a morning or afternoon class-I suggest morning, for a couple of reasons. 1) The classes are normally around 4 hours long... morning classes start at 8 and go to 12, afternoon classes start at 1 and go to 5. If you take an afternoon class, the main part of your day is gone and you can't do much after that. So you'd basically be spending your day off in a classroom. 2) If you take a morning class you could work afterward. I didn't like it very much having to get up at 7:00 a.m on my day off, I figured if I was up already, why not just go to work?

I took the Corporate Communications class with Brenda. The class was easy enough. We did some interesting things in there. If I could go back I'd probably take it again, but mainly just for my classmates because my group was awesome. It could be boring at times, but Brenda is very upbeat and makes you not feel too bad about being up at 8:00 on your day off. Plus, most of the time we got out before 12, so that was good. There was a group presentation at the end.

My friend took Creativity and Innovations and he said he had fun in there. They had several group assignments, one was to make a board game. He had an afternoon class and I think if given the chance to go back, he'd pick the morning class because he didn't like his day being eaten up by the class... especially since most CPs work closing shifts, by the time he was out of class there was nobody for him to hang out with and unless there's something specific you want to do, there's no point in going to the parks either at that point, unless MK is staying open until midnight.

Good luck!

I would need 6 hours. So I would have to take 2 classes. How would that work taking 2 classes? Would you suggest taking 2 disney classes or just enrolling in 2 online classes through my university?

It's all about what you can handle. I have friends who took two classes and still did pretty well. My problem with that would be that you only get two days off, so to have both of them being monopolized by classes is kind of sucky, although you could get lucky and have both of them on the same day and get them out of the way. The upside to Disney classes is that they'll work around your schedule (both the teachers and your managers) and schedule , you get less hours due to taking 2 classes, and during peak times they don't have class. But just remember that you're still going to be working a lot, and sometime until Midnight+ on nights before you have to get up for class.

It also depends on how your online classes are at your school. At mine, you have a lot more work that goes into online classes, such as you have to comment everyday and they may give you a load of work to be done and turned in at a certain time, they're not expecting you to be working 50+ hours in one week, they'll just expect for you to get it done.

This point also depends on how your school works, but for me, I didn't have to pay tuition for that semester and still got a three hour credit. The class I took only cost $5 (the cheapest) and it was taken out of my paycheck over time (like a $1.25 a week for a month) The most expensive class is the Creativity class and that was like $20, but it's still the cheapest semester you'll ever have. But it depends on how your school works with transfer credits and such. I'd definitely talk to your advisor beforehand.

In my opinion, the best thing to do would be to do the advantage program and take one Disney class in the spring and one in the summer. But I think either way, you should take both Disney classes if your school will allow you credit for them; because like I said 1) They're understanding of your hours and will work with you. 2) Most of the classes there use the Disney company as a teaching tool (In my class we talked about a management theory and we did an exercise that other companies come in and pay thousands of dollars to do and learn and talk about) so if you want to learn more about the Company that's a good way to do it.

oh so I could take one class in Spring and the other in Summer? I totally didn't know that. I will defently do that because I talked to my advisor at school and they said most of the courses count. I just gotta make sure the ones I do pick are the ones. Thank you so much!!!!:goodvibes now I just gotta get in lol
