I just made an 8:05 res. for CP breakfast. Will that give us enough time to finish before 9:00 rope drop? We have never done CP before and that was the earliest time available. We will probably go a little early and hope for getting seated before our res. time.

We did this last trip and didn't make rope drop, but....I also have 3 little ones and it takes forever to get through a meal.:headache: I didn't look at your sig to see what ages are going, but if it's just adults or older kids, then you should be fine. It was one of the highlights of my trip to walk up an empty Main St!:thumbsup2

Just reread your post and saw your kids ages. You might not make rope drop, but if you hustle you'll still make it into the park before it's too crowded. It wasn't super crowded for us and we got into the park @ 10am, because we had to do all of the bathroom trips, diaper changes, see ALL of the characters, etc.

We've done this the last two trips and will do it again in Jan. '11. Both times we made RD - first time my girls were 7, 8 & 10.

I think the 8:05 is the first reservation. I just got mine for that time yesterday and it was at my 180 day.

Suggestions:
Get to the park early enough to get in and walk to CP ahead of other diners.

Ask for your check and pay the bill at the beginning of your meal - that way, when you are finished you can go!

Also, unless you are trying for Dumbo first thing you will be only minutes behind anyone else if you happen to finish a bit after 9.

Your waiter/waitress will seat you, so take advantage of that fact and immediately ask for your drink orders (which you should figure out before hand, of course!) and your check. Then immediately go off to the buffets and load up your plates. Pay the bill as soon as you get it (have your KTTW/credit card/money out so you can hand it over as soon as the waiter/waitress brings the bill -- say "I'll pay that right now," then check it over to make sure it's right, and hand over your payment -- remember to leave a good tip! :) ). That way, you can walk out as soon as everyone's done eating.

I've found that this method provides the best chance of making rope drop. Good luck!

8:05 am is the earliest breakfast adr for CP. We've had this adr for the past 3 years and have it again for this Sept. We've always made rope drop with this adr - we are not rushed & see all the characters - we're usually done about 10 minutes prior to rope drop.
