Hiya fellow Disboarders! I am a senior and will be graduating in May (Yikes for real life ). I applied for the CP and got accepted earlier this week :woohoo:, which I am so pumped about! I was definitely not expecting to hear back so soon and now I only have 10 days to accept the position. I have also applied for some PIs, but am still waiting to hear back. If I accept the CP offer, is there any way I can decline it later and accept a PI offer? Also, what would you guys rather do: get a "real life" job that actually deals with my mathematics major (and pays more than minimum wage...) or work as an attractions CM for Disney? (Pretty sure I already know the answer to that one, but I figured I'd ask it anyway ;)) Thanks guys!

If your long term goal is to work with Disney, I say do the CP first. I gained a lot from my CP experience and then went on to a backstage PI after wards. When I started looking into Management, they wanted more front line experience so I returned to the parks for 7 months in Merchandise and have never regretted it.

If you do get a PI, you can certainly decline the CP!

So we're basically the same person :upsidedow I graduate in May with a degree in Finance and I found out Wed that I was accepted for my old role. I've also applied for like a gazillion PIs and hope that one of those comes through. In the mean time I went ahead and accepted the CP and paid all the fees. My reasoning is that if I get an outside job I don't want to pass up - it will pay enough that I won't really miss the $300. If I don't, but end up getting the PI they will just transfer the money over and refund me any extra so I don't lose out there. Worst case, if I don't get anything but the CP - I can go down there, have a great time, and be able to apply for the PI one more time :goodvibes. Because basically this is it, if I don't get the PI now (my last semester) the only other way I could is if I'm doing a CP at the time I apply. So if Disney is really important to you it'd be worth it for that reason alone. Hope that helped :thumbsup2

Thanks Berlioz! I would definitely love to work with Disney in the long run, so starting with the CP and working my way up would probably be a good decision.

Yes! Glad to find someone else in the same predicament as me. What role did you get accepted for? I think your reasoning is spot on, so I will probably go ahead and accept the CP, then do the PI if I get accepted for that. Thanks so much!

ahhh! i am in the exact same boat! its nice to know that im not the only one! and im glad that they will just transfer your money to the PI :cool1:

Welcome aboard mate! pirate:

Yes, I'm also glad to learn that they will transfer the money. :thumbsup2

Back when I was applying for my PI, I found out about my CP acceptance before I even finished the application. They transferred the amount, no problem.

Awesome, thanks for the info! :goodvibes

So im in the same boat. I graduated college back in 2009...worked two years in accounting...hated it...and so I went back to school this semester and applied for the CP. Im waiting to hear back for the CP, had my phone interview last week. And I have a PI phoe interview on monday. I'm trying to think this through and see what would happen if I got offered both. Sure I would like to take the higher paying job but then again, I don't think I can pass up the CP experience. I figured Ill start out there and move up. Im super excited!

I guess there are quite a few people who are in this position! Have you heard back about the CP yet? I hope your phone interview went well for the PI! Which one did you apply for?

YES! Just got the email 5 minutes ago...I got accepted for the CP. Still waiting to hear back on the PI. I applied for the pricing internship and the production internship. My interview went well. They just said it could take up to 4 to 6 weeks to hear back. what about you, have you heard back? I'm so excited right now! Ahhhhhhhhh

Chosen Cheif: How long did it take to hear back about the college program? How many interviews did you go through?

Also, does anyone know how many interviews the PI takes? I have my first phone interview tomorrow. When do you think I'll know for sure?

Thanks so much! (I've been reading so much on here lately, but only now created a username :goodvibes )

Welcome earningears! So I had my interview on the 13th of February and heard back on the 27th so it was exactly two weeks time. They tell you you should hear back within two weeks but I've heard for some, it takes longer. My PI interview was on the 20th. I was told that it would take 4-6 weeks before I hear back. I know some people have had second interviews but I'm not sure if that is across the board. Good luck with everything!

That's AWESOME! Congrats!!! :woohoo:

I just had my interview on the 24th, so I haven't heard back on anything yet. I also applied for the pricing internship, along with a few other math related positions. It would really cool if we get to work together! :goodvibes

Welcome to the boards! :thumbsup2

There is the first general PI interview that will be for all the internships you applied for. From there, they send your information to the individual departments. Then you can either get the position or have a 2nd interview. The interview process really depends on which PI you have applied for.

Good luck on your interview tomorrow!! Just be prepared for a lot of "What would you do in this situation..., Describe a time when..." type questions. :goodvibes

Wait....I thought you had to do the CP before the PI??? Can you just do the PI? I'm a 28 year old that just got accepted to the CP this morning. But I got the QSFB role....I think I'm a little too old and have too much experience for this type of role. I'd rather try and get into the PI if I can. :goodvibes

With some of the pi's you don't have to be an alumni of the cp. It will normally say in the role description if it's required, but I beleive that there is just a general alumni only role that comes up in the job search on the co website and that role has you automatically apply for all the alumni only roles(sorry if that doesn't make sense).

Unfortunately, if you want to apply for a pi, today is the last day to do it.

OMG! Well, I guess I better get to work then. Do you have any suggestions or advice? :)

I haven't been on the DIS for a few days, so I just saw your post. Were you able to find a PI to apply to? Also, congrats on getting accepted to the CP - even though it may not be the role you wanted, the CP will still be an awesome experience! Have you choosen a check-in date yet?
