Hi guys,

Can you please help me with the following questions?

1. When will the applications for Fall/Fall Advantage 2011 CP and PI (for June or September 2011) be available?
2. Does anyone know the start date for the Fall CP (including fall advantage) and the PI?
3. Does anyone know the pay-scale for the PI?
4. Does anyone know if the PI have relatively the same experience as a CP? (meaning can still attend CP events - such as the grocery giveaway, free admission to parks, etc)
5. I know that the PIs ask about transportation- if I apply for it can I just request to be put in the parks (so I can use Disney buses)?

Thanks for your help!

1. The applications for the Fall and Fall Advantage CPs open up in January I believe. They are intended to be filled out when college students return from Winter Vacation. I do not know about the PIs.

2. I don't know any exact dates, but the Fall Advantage CP arrival dates are around mid-late May to early June and the Fall arrival dates are around August. Again, I'm not familiar with the PI.

That's all I know, but hopefully I helped :)

No.

The PIs are meant for people looking towards the next step in a career path. The jobs are so specific, that you know where you will be working ahead of time. For example, if you work in Guest Relations, you will be in a park on in Downtown Disney, since those are the only locations. If you are in Animal Programs, you will be in the Animal Kingdom or certain PIs are at Epcot.

The majority of the other PIs are office PIs, ranging from Communications to Imagineering. Other things such as Ticket PIs are in Celebration.

So unfortunately, you will know where you are going for the most part when you apply, so there isn't any room to request (unless you apply for Guest Relations and are asked, I suppose), but you would be in a bus accessible place anyway.

The start date for the Fall 2010 PI is June 17. The end date is January 7th...so it will be around those dates for the next fall season.

illini4princess- thanks for your help!

kmg148- I would be applying for animal kingdom positions which (I believe are all located in Animal Kingdom). My only concern is about transportation. I know it's possible to live in disney housing, but I believe a requirement is to have your own car. I would rather use disney transportation, especially if the position is in the parks. Do you know if that is possible? Thanks for your help.

Hi guys,

Can you please help me with the following questions?

1. The applications for Fall 2010 CP came out January 20th. The PI applications come out at different times depending on which you are applying for. The earliest application came out late January (sometime after the 20th) and the latest application came out mid febrary. So, it depends on which PI's you are applying for when the application will become avilable.

2. The start dates for FA 2010 are 5/19, 5/24, 6/7, 6/14. The fall dates are 8/9, 8/11, 8/18, 8/23 and 8/30. PI start dates depend on the internship you get.

Update. They just moved all of the PIs into an apartment complex across the street, instead of Patterson. PIs can no longer use the housing transportation.

Thanks for letting me know kmg148! Do you have anymore information on this?

Nothing other than the e-mail they sent us. Just that we would be moving to an apartment complex across the street and don't have access to the transportation. :(

3. It varies based on role. Typically PIs pay more than the CP, when I did the program in Spring 09 the pay was between 9-13. The Management Interns are paid on a salary, something around $600 a week I believe.

4. Nope, two completely different experiences. The events you mentioned are paid for by your housing rent, so if you live in Disney housing you could attend, otherwise you could not. Now that the PIs are moving into a different complex, I'm not sure what that will mean for the housing event access. My assumption is no.

The park access is the same, 6 free day a program with up to 3 entries per day. The room discounts were the same for both as well as the FT CMs. The big difference is that I was eligible for the 401K as a PI, but not as a CP.

During the CP you will typically work in a location with other CPs and that's generally how you create your circle of friends. Going out before/after work and participating in other social events. As a PI I worked at Team Disney and only had one other PI in my department (and he was eventually termed) so I had a better bond with the other full time CMs and it was more a professional relationship then a fun social one like the CP.

I'm glad I did the CP first, so I had that comparison, my department also valued me more over the other PI because I had worked front line in the park first. That experience is very valuable for other roles!

kmg148- I'm sorry about the housing/transportation. I hope it all works out! If you can let me know how the changes progress it'll be great. I am interested in doing the PI in the future.

Berlioz70- Thank you for answering my questions. I'm debating whether I should apply for the CP or PI first. I feel like the CP will be more for fun (no offense to anyone who did the CP) but I feel the PI fits better with my major (education). I think I will apply for both and hope for the best but I don't know. Can you please PM me and let me know what you thought of both programs? If you're busy I'm sorry. Thanks for all of your help.

In our e-mail, it mentioned that if we wanted to go to certain housing events, they will take our name and we will be cleared to enter.

Just if you know any information for future PIs or how your program is. Thanks for your help!
